He'll be a Ball is life staple for years to come but that's about it. He should have kept his ass at Kansas so he could learn how to play the right way.
I guess the And 1 Mix Tape tour is now the ball up All-Stars. Absolutely no defense played on this clip. No indication in this video whatsoever that Josh Selby belongs in the league. He's the poster child for guys that should've stayed in school.
I agree with both of you's
most everyone complains about kids even have to go to college for 1 year. For every 1 and done or even before that straight outta high school players, their are way more Josh Selby's out their that stunted or ruined their NBA playing days by declaring early. I enjoy watching these great athletes come in and dominate but I think it would be best for the player the NBA and college basketball if these players had to stay in college for 2 yrs. or a 20 yr. age limit before entering the NBA so these kids will grow up a little before making their millions.
I understand the Garnets Kobes and Lebrons of the world don't need college ball, but to grow up as a person is as big of a benefit of playing in the NBA. And back in the day when players stayed 2-4 yrs college ball was at it's best March Madness was my favorite time of the year, nowdays I may only know 1-2 players on each team.. Shit maybe I am just getting to old and to bust to keep up.
Shelby was never a NBA player to me. Kansas for 4 or not it was not happening. Stop trying to keep kids in the colleges man. It hurts them quite often too.
He was never an NBA player to you? That's hard to believe considering he was ranked #1 in his high school class by rivals, yet somehow you knew all along that he was going to be a "bust".
Its true it can help but he has the talent and the game to be an NBA player he just needed to know how to play. He's more talented player than Mario Chalmers but Mario stayed for 3 years and now look at him. You can't tell that Selby with his ability wouldn't have been as good as Chalmers or better if he had stayed.
He is one of the cases where staying would have helped him, college is a better place to mature than the NBA and he lacked maturity and discipline, if you have those then leaving early is not a problem, if you dont then leaving early is a bad decision. Like derrick rose was mature to stay out of trouble and he had the discipline to work hard in the offseason, Michael Beasley was neither of those and look at him now.
Selby will forever tear up the NBA Summer leagues, Rucker Park games, and any over seas leagues. But will never start an NBA game in his career. It's a shame!
Why is he not? He has not got it done in quite a few years. Maybe I am better at scouting this kid than you guys were. Plain and simple its what I saw and has come to pass. Guess your assessment was wrong. Mine was right. Kid did not have a pro game. He didnt. Plain and simple. Your assessment was wrong. Mine was right.
