Just talked to my brother about this guy yesterday during the Duke vs Maryland and found out that The Suns are in love with him THIS YEAR.(my brothers old teammate is a scout for the Suns) And they aren’t the only team that likes him. The low down is that teams love his hands and his ability to get great position. They also feel he is a underrated athlete who can become even more athletic once he loses more baby fat. He is considered the second best back to the basket big man in college in there eyes(behind Sullinger).  Stats for the season

     18ppg 12reb 1blk 57%

The knock on him is his free throw shooting although he has very good form. Also does his work while seeing double teams every game. Was doubled aginst Duke and finished with 23pts 13reb while helping to foulout Mason Plumlee

It is hard to make the argument for his athleticism when he clearly is on the chubby side. It is hard to know which direction he’ll take with his body. He is certainlly great right now. Sean May was dominant in college and showed himself to be capable of scoring in the NBA. He blew out his knee, got fat, and hasn’t been heard from since. Mike Sweetney was a solid player when he wasn’t that fat, but he couldn’t keep it down. He could also go the route of Marc Gasol who like Williams wasn’t fat but just a little chubby. Gasol got slim and has become one of the better young centers in the NBA.

^^ yeah i Agree it could go either way with him. He is very talented and can bang on people and beats players down the floor ( beat the Plumless’s a couple times down the floor). But that weight will be the big Question mark. I do Believe he could be a Marc Gasol type player int he NBA. I just hope he decides to come back next year

Yeah I’m a Maryland fan and really like Jordan Williams. He tossed around the Plumlees like rag dolls last night and IMO showed his excellent post game, soft touch and excellent rebounding tools as well. If he comes out, I think he is a first round pick for sure. I’d like to see how he matches up against some other decent college big men, like Tyler Zeller, Mouphtaou Yarou( they play Villanova), and other taller big men.

Eh…tossing arounf the Plumlees aren’t a huge accomplishment. Trust, as a Duke fan, I saw it alot already. I think he can be a good NBA player but I don’t know about Marc Gasol.

To me, he still has to show me something. I was impressed with the Duke game but I still remember the Pitt game where he struggled and the Illinois game where he didn’t do as well as I thought. I wanna see more IMO

im also a duke fan and i remember this kid when he was a freshman and he showed glimpses of being a really good player. I dont realy see the gasol comparison though. I think hed be more like a poor mans boozer. Bozer had around the same body type in college and around the same skillz as far as his hands rebounding and back to the basket game

Yeah I know tossing around the plumlees isn’t a huge a acomplishment in my eyes either, but Mason Plumlee is a projected first round selection anywhere from 10-25 on the draft boards I’ve seen…..

I’ll say it right now, that’s a overrated area IMO. I think both Plumlee brothers need to stay another season. Mason wasn’t ready to take the load as the main big inside and his numbers show.

He’s averaging 7-7 right now. With one game over 16 points. So he is really a top 20 prospect? Hell no.

I’m a Duke fan saying this BTW

I think the Pumlees are overrated as well skill wise but they are athletic and have pretty good size and height

14pts 8 reb on 6-9 shooting against Pitt isn’t bad at all. 2-7 free throw in that game is but it shows he draws fouls at a very good rate

15pts 13reb against Illinois on 6-8 shooting and 3-5 from the line pretty good game once again. Both cases show he needs to get the ball more

Both with no true point guard and seeing double teams
