Who do you guys pick between Tyus Jones & Emmanuel Mudiay? and why?
Who do you guys pick between Towns & Okafor? and why?
And who do you guys think their games are similar to??
Mudiay he's a freakish athlete and reminds me of Russell Westbrook
Okafor he has the low post game down and reminds me of a bigger Jared Sullengier
In five years the better players will be Emmanuel Mudiay and Karl Towns. Mudiay fits the mold of the athletic PGs such as Derrick Rose Russell Westbrook etc. He will be a solid NBA PG. Karl Towns is a 7 footer with the ability to hit jumpshots very smooth game I think he could end up being the best NBA player from the class of 2014. Really think he has a chance to be special.
Mudiay just has such great size and athleticism that he could very well be the next athletic PG in the NBA like Rose, Westbrook and Wall. If he can continue to develop he could become a very good player.
Okafor has such a great touch around the basket and he could be the next great low post scorer. As long as he really is 6'11 like he is listed he could become an elite center. Great footwork and the willingness to play inside is what separates him from the athletic centers that we usually see today. He knows his role and he is very good at it.
about Towns Jr is that his game is so fluid despite his size and the baby fat he still carries, he still seems to have a natural grace when handling the ball and driving to the rim. All this with an ever improving post game, sky is the limit for this kid.
I think Okafor's hype is going to seriously decrease by the time he enters the draft. He could be one of the best college players in the last 10 years due to his size and ability in the post, but NBA wise I would rather have Towns. One reason is Towns is athletic and has far more mobility for his size than Okafor does. Being 6'11, 280 isn't detrimental if you have any sort of athleticism but Okafor just doesn't. Towns can also stretch the floor which is crucial for the way the NBA is being played today (I.e. guards attacking off of the dribble). Okafor will struggle simply doing pick and rolls let alone stretch the floor. I don't really think there is debate on who has the better pro prospectus. Okafor will have a dominant size advantage if he stays in shape but overall he seems like a one trick pony (granted that trick is pretty elite back to the basket skill set) with no athleticism.
Jones vs. Mudiay is a toss up because who knows where each player's trajectory will end up. Will Jones turn into a second coming of Tony Parker? Or will he be a defensive liability with little offensive impact? Is Mudiay a repeat of year 2/3 Tyreke Evans or is he the next a line of elite athletic point guards? If both reach their ceiling it would be hard to bet against Jones seeing what Parker has done with the Spurs, granted Parket was in a unique situation. Time will tell with these two.
But I read an article saying how Tyus played the best perimeter defense in the YBL
Yeah but Rose, Wesrbrook, Wall are a different breed. He just doesn't look the part physically to handle players as talented or more talented than himself.
By the way plus 1 for the Underground Kingz pic, REST IN PEACE PIMP C!
very true....lol thanks
