Jonas Valančiūnas

I think its safe to say Jonas Valančiūnas has been the best player in the Las Vegas summer league with averages of roughly 19ppg-10rpg on 56% shooting; not to mention he's shooting a blistering 88% from the free throw line (better than most guards). And this isnt based on a small sample size, J Val is constantly getting to the free throw line with his sheer physical dominance. The game against san antonio, he got to the free throw line 12 times and hitting 11. Although his bpg is only 0.8, anybody whose seen J Val play knows that he alters many more shots playing solid d rather than jumping like a fool trying to block every shot. Also if youve seen J-Val in the olympics, you know he's capable of 2bpg with his length.

Also just because I dont recall a thread on the Raptors recent acquisition: DJ Augustin was a great pickup at only $1.2 Million 1 year. Its nice to see role players paid like role players up here in Toronto, Thank You Ujiri. Also Dwight Buycks was a solid addition as he showed what he can do in the previous summer league game dropping 18pts-10ass-6reb.

Summing it all up, Raptors future looks bright in the hands of Jonas: dudes got POTENTIAL and boy is he on the path to fulfilling it!

Sorry dude but had to neg you

Sorry dude but had to neg you because Augustin is not by any means a good pick up. His value may only be inflated because he was the best bench player on the 2nd worst bench in basketball. Kid is terrible

Sorry dude but had to neg you because you're wrong. Augustin was actually a decent starter back in Charlotte (14.4 and 6 apg), pretty underrated IMO

Jonas will put up those

Jonas will put up those numbers maybe even better, but I remain skeptical about Raptors being scary :)

Yea he is nice, may sneak the Raps into the playoffs, which is bitter sweet because it means we're going to have to wait 7 or 8 years to get Andrew Wiggins :(

Too good

After seeing him in the Summer League, I'm dying to use the Raptors for the association in 2k14 just so i could develop him into THE center piece of my team along with Terrence Ross (who btw, is doing very well in the SL too)

CANNOT WAIT UNTIL 2k14 COMES OUT!!!!!!

Val definitely took the

Val definitely took the offseason to bulk up and it has helped him finish below the rim better. I hope he can translate this into the regular season where the competition is fierce.

On another note, John Henson has been quite impressive, especially on the defensive end. He's still skin n' bones, but he's holding his own.

Those free throw shooting

Those free throw shooting numbers is what got you the +1 from me. I didn't realize how well he shot from the line. You can hack-a-Rap with him and that makes him even scarier as a future pivot man.

Comparing his weight from

Comparing his weight from this year, from last year WOW has he added some muscle. Much needed muscle, If I do say so though. He definitely is going to be a force in the future, watch out for this kid.

I remember reading comments

I remember reading comments on another site about Jonas Valanciunas becoming a future 18/15/4 guy. I thought it was far fetched at first, and still do, but the kid's shown improvement. I think he could become a 18/12/2 kinda guy, but 18/15/4 is just a little too much. Either way, he's got potential and has shown real improvement!

JV

I am a huge JV fan as well, i think he belongs in the conversation as 1 of the top 3 young big man in the league with Brow & Drummond. I don't however think the raptors our a scary team in the East, maybe a 5-6th seed at best and a early exit from playoffs. I actually think the move they will regret will be trading for Rudy Gay. 3 years from now that deal will not look so good, also if they did not make that move and instead broke the team up & rebuilt around JV they would have a shot at Wiggins who WANTS to play in Toronto.
