Wall will no longer be part of Reebok.
I wonder what prompted the move to Adidas, I wish he chose Nike instead so he could start a signature line.
Personally, I prefer Addida style over Reebok shoe's.
Adidas owns Reebok, so basically Adidas pulled the plug and basically added someone already on their active roster from another branch.Reebok no longer makes any more basketball shoes but they will keep releasing retros.
I saw on a sneaker performance website that the John Wall Zigs were horrible (There was an earlier review that went more in depth).
This could be a lot better for him. Personally I kind of agree with the sentiment behind what that Nike exec had to say about Rose's injury. A lot of these athletes just put on whatever "cool" sneaker a company designs for them, but how many of them have put in the scientific study and design that Nike does? I have worn every major brand and some lesser brands over the years, but I swear by Nike for the comfort and performance. That is not to say that Nike hasn't made a few lemons themselves, but in Nike I trust.
Speaking of which I just picked up the new KD V's and they are really nice.
Also apparently initial claims that Reebok is done with basketball shoes may be a bit hasty. This article was revised after a Reebok exec. weighed in.
I know why he left, because the Reebok Zigtechs were causing the stress reaction in his knee. The whole gimmick of the Zigtechs is to elevate your heel to give you more forward momentum. But instead of giving you forward momentum, it replicates running down-hill, something which is notoriously bad for your knees, especially when you're moving at the pace Wall was.
Having a better heel-to-toe balance in height means more stability, more responsiveness of the knees and feet and less soreness. I tried the Zigtechs once when I was younger, and they were terrible, made my shins and knees hurt because of the running downhill syndrome - this was on runners and the basketball versions.
I had been toying with the idea of sharing my theory with Wall somehow in the interest of helping his recovery, but it looks like somebody else figured it out and hopefully Wall's knees will be better from now on.
I'm glad he's no longer with Reebok, but I wish he would have went to Under Armour or Nike, even team Jordan under the Nike branch. I just hate Adidas and Reebok. Shoes always ugly to me.
Reebok has fallen off so hard! They were killing the game 10 years ago and are far behind Nike Under Armour Jordan Adidas and those Chineese companies.
