Looked like trash.. Was forcing things time and time again.. Had a few nice moves that showed what he will be, but since NO ONE has really knocked him on here, might as well let him have it as well… He was horrible in his debut…Turner seems to be the one getting ripped on a lot, but based on both of their (1st performances) ET shined over Wall, and both played star studded tms.. Just saying..Im sure Wall will settle down,  but last night he did not show what he is capable of……

oh wow was his performance ugly……..3-13 in the 1st half for 6 points, seems to me he is one of those guys who will put up good numbers but lots of his points are gonna come in transition. I said on here turner would be a star player, his debut was solid but im not sold on him yet tho after summer league and pre-season, he lacks nba quickness without a doubt.. should cool to see how these 2 progress throughout the season….. and my god!! blake griffin = beast

yea blake seems unstoppable barring injury. i have to agree with you. IM not sold on ET myself, just being a sixers fan.. watching summer lg / preseason i was a lil shook on ET, but through 1 gm i walked away slightly relieved. Im sure Wall will be fine too, but hes gotta get a jumper.. Its ugly looking, and watching orlando sag 4-5′ off of him everytime he had the ball is unheard of unless were talking Rondo..

His shooting was ugly..His debut was ok..Not great, but it wasnt bad either..He made some exciting plays..And got to the basket sometimes with ease..He needs to improve his shot..The Magic constantly left him open..That might change when Arenas gets back..He’ll be able to drive move..Becuz thay couldnt stop him from doing that..Another thing is he’s playing with poor outside shooters..The Wizards have a bunch of  low basketball IQ guys that missed their assignment..And the Magic are a smart defensive team..They quickly got back on defense..When that happen it forced Wall into a turnover trying to create a play..

poor outside shooters?  He has Kirk Hinrich, Nick Young, Cartier Martin (not to mention Gil once hes back)… All 3 of them got time, and all 3 can shoot well.

Walls game was horrible last night.. Even on Dwights goal tend, that ball wasnt even gonna touch the rim as it came off the glass.. Yes he can penetrate and blow by his man, but yesterday he couldnt finish, and his decision making was sub-par… I think hes a GEM, but no one is shy about ripping others… Since when is 6-19  an OK debut? 1 Rebound? Ill give him the 9 assists – but most came when it didnt matter. his # turnovers in my eyes were a bright sign, i expected many more. 3 steals – solid….. Orlando PGs combined for 23 pts on 9-12 shooting from Jameer, Duhon, and J-will….. 9-12 his guys shot on him. just saying… His D wasnt what i heard it was..He will get better.

No doubt Wall could’ve played better..

And none of those guys you mention are pure outside shooters like a Ray Allen or Mike Miller….thats what i meant…

The guy is a rookie, Wall made some exciting plays for a guy’s 1st nba game.Plus he made some mistakes and shows he has alot to work on….even his coach said that..

Some of yall are Bandwagoners..Turner played bad in summer league and preseason and then he scores 16 points in a game and yall are ready to crown him king again..After saying the 76’ers made a bad pick…..

Yeah I can’t say shooting that bad would qualify as a “ok” game. He looked good passing the ball but his scoring game was very bad. Bad shooting and not finshing when getting in the lane.  I like wall but I’m not a bandwagon guy so imma call it like I see it and wall had a bad game overall

and wall has good enough shooters. No shooter hits all his shots

The worst place for Wall to debut was Orlando. Howard closes down the paint to penetration, and the Magic as a whole did a good job of controlling tempo to keep him from getting out in transition until the game was out of reach. Wall is a work-in-progress in the halfcourt, but very few teams will be able to limit him from getting a ton of easy points for his team by simply being the quickes player and possibly best athlete on the floor. The Magic happen to be one of them.

yea no doubt.. Definitely a tough first draw… Be interesting to see how orlando plays tonight, going into a back to back against the heat of all tms..

We all know he doesn’t have much of a jump shot and most of his points come in the paint…not many people get into the paint against the Magic without Dwight Howard having something to say about it.

John had an OK debut, but he can’t be blamed for the blowout. He couldn’t shoot, but we knew that was going to be an issue.  He had trouble driving and drawing fouls, but with Howard around, that’s to be expected.  He didn’t get out in transition, but you can’t run if you don’t rebound. And like RUDEBOY said, the Wizards also have no pure shooters. Evertime he would penetrate and there was no where to go, he would kick it out but he had no other great shooter on the floor and they would miss the shot. He just needs someone else to help him with the scoring load and some big men who actually know how to defend basic NBA sets. Once Gil comes back, Wall should play better because he will have a big-time scorer and a good shooter along side him. When Gil comes back, he should just focus on scoring and shouldn’ worry about being a "good teammate" like he did last season.

Al Thornton dunked on Dwight Howard, but nobody cared because it was a blowout.
