TyroberParticipantRight now he is the number one, but where would he be ranked if Rose and Westbrook didnt have such great years. I know the kid can play some ball i have saw where some people had said he’ll be a top 3 PG in the NBA in five years. This is absolutely absurd. He has proved nothing yet, he has not even played a game of college ball yet and to already act like hes a great player is ridiculous. I know the kid can be good but everyone is jumping on the rookie PG bandwagon. Every team falls in love with big men in the draft, its no secret good big men are harder to come by and this years PF group is just like this pasts PG group. There is a ton of studs in the PF department so just dont be surprised when john wall is knocked off as the number one player. Rose and Westbrook are amazing, but rookie PGs this good are very rare finds. only time can tell if this kid is the real deal or not.

RickyRubio9ParticipantI don’t like John Wall, too much hype before playing a COLLEGE GAME.

Henry25ParticipantJohn Wall is the real deal. He is more athletic and has better physical tools than either Rose or Westbrook. The kid is quicker than both and has a ridiculous wing span for a pg. I’m not calling him better than those guys right now, but he has all the tools to be the best pg in the league in a few years. His one main flaw is his jumper, but anyone will tell u that that’s the easiest thing to fix once u get in the league

CameronCrazieParticipantI agree Ricky too many people think this kid going to be the next great star in the NBA.I’m not saying the kid won’t be good I’m just saying atleast let him play a college season, everyone thinks this kid has superstar potential but everyone thought Kwame Brown did too.

JNixonParticipantI think there’s no doubt he’ll be a great player eventually…he has all the same tools that Rose and Westbrook have. He doesnt have their strength, but he’s not weak either. He has the ability to be a top 5 PG, I dont know if anyone doubts that. He does have to play though, but I’m just making a prediction. He’s almost too athletically gifted to even be a mediocre player…that’s how talented he is.

RickyRubio9ParticipantYeah I mean, c’mon now, lemme watch this guy in College first before i go on and say, He’s better then blah blah blah and so and so. Although Henry you make a great point and at least you aren’t saying he is the best RIGHT NOW

FT33ParticipantI watched him at the Jordan Brand game to see what was all the hype about. He looked really good but that was a HS game. We need to slow it down with all the hype now. We need to see him play against the best teams before we start comparing him to Rose or any other player for that matter.

gregoden08ParticipantBut I don’t love him. He rely s far too heavily on his physical attributes at times. I think he does have superstar potential, but we gotta see the guy play. As of now, I think Favors is more NBA ready.

lalailaParticipantin 2003 Lebron had prove nothing, even no college games played, and many people compared him to both MJs (Jordan and Magic) is was an “absurd”….ofcourse there could be injures, attitude or smthg..but if everything will be allright he will become a star! hypes not comes from nowhere

SlimParticipantI think he can contribute depending on what team he goes to
ala Rondo with the Celtics
I like Renardo a bit better myself0

JoeWolf1He has the benefit of being ranked high right now, but he’ll have to earn it in the regular season. Derek Rose wasn’t ranked as the #1 pick all year. Beasley, and Mayo were at times throughout the season. Rose had a great freshman year and his team went to the national title game, and Rose played very well throughout the whole tournament. He then earned his spot as the #1. Wall will have to do the same thing. Ranking him #1 right now i don’t think is absurd, because he has that kind of talent and potential, but as his highs and lows of his freshman year occur paired with the play of other elite players is what will decide his fate. I think it’s legit to put him there now, but there is a whole season before the 2010 draft, and it hasn’t been given to him by his current draft status, he’ll still have to earn it.

lalailaParticipantthis is other story…he was #1 around 3yrs ago, and when we talk about freshmen or sophmores it’s difficult, but all in all while ppl start to hate him i like him as a top5 talent, GSW would be crazy for him i think, but same with Wall he would be monster from day one in Don’s system

JoeWolf1Did they rule him officially ineligible? Last I heard they Miss St. did, but the NCAA was looking in to it.

NCAA declares Fairfax High product Renardo Sidney ‘not certified’
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/sports_blog/2009/09/renardo-sidney-college-basketball-mississippi-state.htmlRenardo Sidney’s eligibility status for this season is at a stalemate. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=4517145&name=katz_andy
The NCAA has requested specific documentation for the Mississippi State signee — the income tax returns from Sidney’s family to explain how it paid for housing while the Jackson, Miss., native was playing at Fairfax High in Los Angeles. But Sidney’s Birmingham-based attorney, Donald Jackson, says he has provided plenty of information already and will not hand over that final piece.Sidney’s lawyer wants to take it to Congress
I seriously doubt he will play a single NCAA basketball game
U think he is 1 and done?0

quincey hodgesyou must have forgotten that lebron already had a man body and dominated not only in aau but during the season and lead his team to a number one ranking even though his team was less talented then others…wall on the other hand didnt lead his team too far and had a extra year in highschool. im also one thats not on the bandwagon though i think he has the potenial to be good unlike what someone said its not a sure thing he will be a star..there are many cases of a guy who had too much athletisim not make it to super star level… ive always said first prove it college before being labeled a cant miss guy since its not too hard to dominate hs if you have d1 talent

Bryant24ParticipantI think john wall is goin to be a good player but in due tome people already crowing him as the best point guard prosepect since jason kidd wall is good but give him time to develop i dont think he’s going to be number one pick either because every year a big man come out of nowhere dont be suprise if derrick favors is number one or Donatas Motiejunas or ed davis.
