Watching the game against the Raps, Wall looked like he had lost his swagger. Against a poor defeisive team and noteably against a bad defensive guard Calderon you think he would be able to get to the rim more. His shooting is horrible ala Rondo but he just seems more nervous and unsure. I know hes a rookie but do people think he can be great?

in all honesty, you bring up a great point. i really dont see it. he’ll be good, never great, or never a superstar. an all star a couple seasons mabe but thats all i see, i loved rose’s game MUCH more when he was a rookie. MUCH MORE.

You do know he is most likely still not 100% healthy? Look back at his games at the start of the season before all his ankle and knee injuries. And then make a judgement.

Wall is coming back after nursing an injury..And that has him playing to avoid getting hurt again….Once he gets comfortable he’ll be the same player that had people wondering who was the better rookie him or Blake?

Wall reminds me of Wade during his rookie year..Wade struggled with his shot..But got to the basket with ease….

He’s a better shooter than Rondo.

And I don’t think there’s anything holding Wall back, other than injuries, from becoming an elite point guard in the NBA. I won’t guarantee he’ll be a superstar, but there’s a good chance he will be in my opinion.

You can’t say he won’t become a superstar just because of the last few games. He still isn’t %100 and has all the tools to become a great PG ala Rose, Westbrook, and Rondo.

He said that his knee is still bothering him, but his jumper has not been going down AT ALL lately and has lost all confidence in his shot. He’s been passing up so many open shots lately, and whenever he does shoot, it misses. He needs to totally reinvent his jumper this offseason. He gets no lift. With that being said, he’s still a better shooter then Rondo and he was actually shooting well earlier in the season. The shooting slump just started recently.

The main problem his has is his liabilty at the defensive end right now. I think I can say that it has been TERRIBLE lately. He’s been playing D like Gilbert Arenas. Besides steals, he’s not been impressive on that end. He’s been letting average PG’s get by him with ease. Maybe some of this has to do with the injury though. It’s funny because he has all the tools to become an elite defender(good height for a PG, long wingspan, great anticipation on steals, and great lateral quickness). This should be one of the main things he focuses on this offseason.

15 and 9 with two steals a game is pretty good for a rookie point guard you know. Wall will be fine. He’s a young player on a very young team, and is still putting good games together every night. When he matures and actually has legit team mates around him watch out.

Its called hitting the rookie wall and injuries don’t help either.  How can you possibly say he won’t ever be great after a few bad games completely disregarding the games where he was great before injuries.  And one more thing he’s a ROOKIE!  He can only get better.
