ive seen him play of course, this guy can block shots at will i think, has mind boggling length, and is skinnier than nicole richie, but his talent is tantalizing, how do u access him at the next level, postiive or negative, and y?

for me it depends on his work ethic… if hes an anthony randolph type player in terms of work ethic, expect him not to get much better.

I don’t think he’s a better prospect than Brandan Wright.

From what I’ve seen of him he seems to be too nice of a guy, he doesn’t have that mean streak that every great player needs.

how do you know anthony randolph doesnt have a good work ethic?
i actually remember when he got 42 points in summer league and they asked him what he thought, he said “i ONLY had 3 rebounds, that needs to improve”. that actually sounds to me like he wants to improve

I think he has a ways to go. He needs to polish his overall skill-set. He can rebound and block shots, but he’s too weak to do much more than that. To me, he seems like Ndubi Ebi. I think Henson really needs to gain weight and polish his overall game, so he really needs to get to work. That’s alot of things to improve. His potential is Anthony Randolph, but I see him more as Ndubi Ebi (for those who remember him).

Haha who could forget Ndudi. He and Outlaw coming out where almost identical prospects, amazing to see how different their careers have been.

I still believe in this kid, I like him alot when he was coming out in high school. I like him alot more than Brandan Wright, because Henson has the tools to slide into SF in the NBA where he doesn’t have to bang against PFs, Wright on the other hand is stuck at PF weighing 210lbs. Its going to be tougher for him this year because he may need to kick in full time at PF spot with Harrison Barnes playing SF, and Reggie Bullock at SG. The best comparison I can think of for him is Jared Jeffries, I hope he does better than Jeffries in the Pros because Im a fan of Henson.

he probabaly knows from golden stats coach and gm saying randolph has a bad work ethic and is the last one there and the first to leave when its time to practice

as far as henson i also dont think hes better then b wright at this point. hes a long ways from being a factor on the nba level imo

IMO if he averages in double figures this year it’s time to bolt. If he waits 4 years and is that guy who still hasn’t lived up to his hype, he’ll struggle to be drafted in the first.

To be fair, it would be hard to have a good work ethic playing for the Warriors, they’ve been such a no-hoper team for the past few years and their whole playing style is geared towards losing. Especially if you were getting minutes. I think Henson will benefit enormously from playing with Barnes this season and the two will either leave together next year or wait it out because of the lockout and have another crack.

Does anyone think he could play a Tayshaun Prince type small forward role?

I thought about saying Prince was his ceiling, but man. Prince could legitimately play 3 positions for Detroit when they were good (PG/SG/SF). I see Henson as a SF/PF more than anything.

He has talent and he’s very long in the Nba he’ll probably be a matchup guy off the bench a combo forward and in some situations he may slide over to the five but I do think he’ll be a good defender because he can alter shots offensively he wont be that good though

he part of roy williams laziest team ever. for a coach to come out and say this speaks so horrible about his players. its not all of them but most i’m guessing. and the way he is a stick doesnt seem like he is too driven

Henson IS NOT A 3. When they tried to play him at the 3 earlier in the year it was an epic fail. He couldn’t do anything other than pass around. He is NASTY on putback slams, as a shotblocker, and a good rebounder. He dunks everything anywhere near the rim. He is a power forward all the way, and is bulking up really nicely. He is up to about 210 now. Got to Carolina 185 soaking wet.
