Brew Meister SmithParticipantLove the attention to detail on your lists.
You give Bennett pretty solid numbers at 10-6 and all rookie first team. Do you agree with him going 1st overall or even top 2 or 3?
Obviously there are a lot of critics of the pick, but your numbers suggest he should have been in the running regardless.

JoeWolf1I think Bennett is top 3 talent in this draft, but I personally thought Oladipo or McLemore would have been better selections at #1. That being said, I didn’t think Bennett was a poor selection at 1. I think in 10 years, all three will have been starters for the majority of their careers and possibly 1-3 time All-Stars.
I think he can play, and will play this season. With Brown saying he’s pretty much strictly going to play the PF spot this season, I have his minutes relatively low for a first pick, but I think Thompson will play a little center and Bennett will play a tad at the 3. They have a real cohesive unit in place with multi position players in their front court and Bennett’s perimeter skillset will play into that giving Irving more room to drive where Thompson could not.
Anyways, I’m rambling, but I thought Bennett was an solid pick, but not necessarily BPA. He’s probably a little more Clarence Witherspoon than Larry Johnson, IMO, but hey, that’s not all bad.

r377ParticipantMCW is garbage but should get lots of minutes as the Sixers tank.
What do you think his T/O per game and fg% will be Joe Wolf ?

JoeWolf1I included his FG % on the far right of his predictions, but I had him at 37% from the field, 33% from 3 and 77% from the stripe. I’m not buying him as an efficient shooter at all, as a rookie.
He’s done a much better job taking care of the ball in pre-season compared to his shotty summer league performance, only turning the ball over once in over 80 minutes, but obviously he’s going to have some bumps in the regular season. I would think he’d be around 3.1 or so in the 24.5 minutes per game I gave him in my prediction.

HobbyOGParticipantI think your standards are pretty high for alot of these rookies..example, Tim Hardway Junior ave 8.4 pts a game? NY is full of guards and he is suppose to do that in 18 minutes?

JoeWolf1Yeah, the do have a lot of guards, but Felton and whats left of Beno will only play point guard. Prigioni is a combo that is more PG than 2, and with Melo seeing more and more time at the 4, it opens New York up to a lot of 3 guard lineups..especially with a wing defender like Shumpert who can guard a small forward. It may be a little high, but I think Hardaway Jr. surprises some people this season.
8.4 ppg in 18 mpg is only 16.8 ppg per 36 minutes, it’s not like I’m putting him at an above 20 ppg per 36 or anything crazy. It may be a shade high, but New York’s core players are getting old and they’re not a contender, I think they start to experiment with younger lineups.

CoolidgerParticipantWhere is CJ McCollum?
Also, I like how realistic you are for most of these, they match or are pretty close to a lot of my projections.

JoeWolf1Shit! Haha, I don’t know how I forgot him!
With Mo Williams’ addition, and with his injury recovery I think he gets brought along slowly at first but settles in to these numbers.
C.J. McCollum – 20 mpg – 9.1 ppg 2.2 rpg 2 apg 43/36/84

JoeWolf1With just a couple games left, I’ll go ahead and bump my predictions.
Did anyone think Anthony Bennett would struggle this much as a rookie? I was way off on him, and I undershot MCW’s rookie impact as well, and I overshot Ben McLemore, C.J. McCollum, and Cody Zeller. I also overshot Rice, and Archie Goodwin because I had no idea Pheonix would be so good and he’d have less time to play.
I hit really close with
Victor Oladipo – actual – 31.4 mpg – 14 ppg 4.2 rpg 4.1 apg – 42/33/78
Trey Burke – actual – 32 mpg – 12.4 ppg 5.6 apg 2.4 rpg – 38/34/89
Kelly Olynyk – actual – 19.6 mpg – 8.2 ppg 5.1 rpg 1.1 apg – 46/35/81
KCP – actual – 19.5 mpg – 5.6 ppg 1.9 rpg .7 agp – 39/30/79
I also got close with Steven Adams and his increased role, Otto and Len having lackluster years, and Tim Hardaway Jr. playing a legit role with the Knicks.
Anyways, I just do this for fun, but I always gotta bump it to see which guys I did well with, which ones I completely whiffed on and who surprised us all.

MettaWorldDurant1ParticipantPretty spot on other than a few players who under produced, as for the best? MCW got a lot of minutes this year with no real talent behind him. ROY a la Damian Lillard

Ghost01ParticipantI give you a +1 just for the fact you put so much time into differentiating between this truly god awful rookie class. But I mostly agree with your assessment.
