So in a 76ers vs. Heat preseason game these two sqaured up and Whiteside got called on 3 touchy fouls in 5 minutes. The two were talking alot of trash back and forth and it found its way onto twitter. Funniest thing is at the end of the conversation Embiid tweeted "my bad yall I thought I was using my burner account” LOL.

I actually feel like Whiteside got held back and Miami representatives shut him up before he could get into it, Riley runs a strict organization. I cant wait until the next 76ers vs. Heat game and hopefully Embiid is healthy for it.

My question for you is despite Embiid being more talented, with his injury history which C would you rather build your team around Embiid or Whiteside?

Usually not one to role the dice, but he’s so much more talented than Whiteside (who is a damn good player) that I’m willing to do it here.

Rather build a team around Embiid, although I’d get fired so fast if he stayed hurt

Normally I like Embiid and all his antics but he was just being a chode here. Maybe 1 of those 3 fouls on Whiteside were fouls, more likely that none of them were fouls and he probably knew that. I don’t want Embiid to not be who he is, but I think the fame’s been going to his head where he thinks he can do and say whatever he wants, which is basically true. Like how everyone on twitter and all the websites were saying he trashed Whiteside on twitter when Whiteside really got the better of him

That said, can’t wait for their first real game

The idea of Embiid tweeting scares me. He could easily dislocate his shoulder or break his wrist… And then could luck using his crutches.

Whiteside came out later and said it was trash talk and it’s nothing but love between them.

I would build my team around Whiteside, not off of talent but health. This dude played 31 games, in 3 years!!  Just read that the 6ers are putting Joel on a minute restriction to start the season, some where in the teens and he’s pissed about it..

I thought Whiteside sort of put Embiid in his place.  Embiid was talking smack even though he was 1-7 shooting. Love the Whiteside you only played 31 games in 3 years hopefully you make it to the regular season.

Embiid really needs to slow his role down. He’s played 31 games in 3 years and he’s saying he has a say in how many minutes he’s going to play. He needs to gradually get back into the swing of things. during the offseason his twitter was gold but now it’s the season and he needs less tweets and more games.

I was a big fan of Embiid but now I’m starting to think he’s a wanna be Shaq. Shaq told people off but his game backed his trash talk. Embiid is either hurt or on minute restrictions and still talking smack to people. He’s like that kid at the park who makes fun of everyone’s game but never hits his free throw to get on a team

Never hits his free throw?  He got played 31 games and now will make 150 million if relatively healthy.  I think his free throw was his year at Kansas…I think that Free Throw set him up to play in the NBA and make 150 million dollars.

Embiid is just getting back into form.  He’s 7’2” and barely played or practiced…yet you think Whiteside "put him in his place".  Are you taking into account the fact that Embiid has barely played or practiced?

I actually agree with you in that he is too loud and demanding at times.  But I think he is a winner, he has a great IQ, and besides Kawhi Leonard he may be the premier 2-way player in the league (durant and james get knocked down a little for defense, Embiid is an absolute game changer on D).

Embiid is a non-stop game changer when he is in the game.  Like Shaq, you can never ever ignore his presence out there either on offense or defense.

Whiteside is a solid pro, but he sounds corny to be jealous of a rookie and his "all-star campaign".  He should make a team first then complain about Embiid’s campaign.

Embiid is the better player, in fact, he is a generational talent…like it or not..

Embiid has a chance to be the best player in the game if he can stay healthy. The amount the guy has improved in such limited court time is insane. His peak potential is HOF status.

Whiteside is a nice player. In a league that is weak in the middle he is probably in the top 5-10 centers depending on who is being classified as a center. However, I think he has already reached his peak potential. He may improve on some small aspects of his game, but he basically is what he is.

Honestly, Whiteside is a sure thing, he is a really good player. But I would roll the dice with Embiid and I’m not sure I would even think twice about it.
