Joel Berry Commits to UNC
Kid is a stud and in my opinion will be the next great UNC PG to follow after Raymond Felton and Ty Lawson.
Tar Heel fans should be VERY happy about this. On the other hand Marcus Paige and Nate Britt shouldn't.
Yessssssss!!!!!!!! As a UNC fan I'm stoked, watched him alot this summer and he reminds me of Kendall Marshall with a better offensive game, alway keeps his eyes up. A true floor general, watching Marcus Paige is a love/hate relationship with me
Kendall Marshall? Try Duke's Jay Williams.
I've watched him play and yes he is that good.
Why would he commit to North Carolina when there's already two point guards ahead of him?
Yeah with Britt and Paige there its gonna be tuff for one of them three to standout, but i think its gonna be Berry. Hes big and strong. He reminds me of Marcus Banks. Berry will be a solid 3/4 year player
Britt has not been getting better,if you ask me and this knee injury only slows him down some more. But he is still a top hs player and a accomplished a lot and I hope his confidence has not taken a hit but Joel Berry will run the show when he gets there.
Britt hasn't been a top player in HS for 2 yrs now. IMO, tt'd be hard to place him in the top 15 at his position in HS. Unless paige is fine with being moved off the ball, I can see either he or Britt eventually transferring.
Bell committing there is a bit of a surprise, but I think he knows he's good enough to displace either one of those other PGs.
Joel is very smooth as a player and teaming him up with Paige and Britt is going to be good for UNC in terms of pg depth something we've had problems with the last couple of years. Paige is getting their in terms of running the offense but i see him playing off the ball alot more when Britt and Berry come to town. Because of his strength I can see Berry starting at SG giving UNC two pg on the court at once with one coming off the bench not including Luke Davis and Stilman White who should be back during the 2014 season.
Paige will probably move off the ball. A lot of UNC fans aren't convinced he is a pure PG. He is better when he hunts his shot. Britt should develop into a solid 6th man, however I think that a lot of you are right that he simply isn't starting material. Stilman White proved that he can be a solid PG as well as he held his own against Kansas. Not an NBA talent by any means though.
I see (most likely)
SG Theo Pinson? (sounds like it will come down to UNC or Duke)
SF Justin Jackson? (rumor is he is a UNC lean)
Roy needs to recruit some shooters.
I like Tokoto. He has all the tools in the world to become a Demar Derozan or Vince Carter
