valentineJoe Johnson has not talked about returning to Atlanta from what I seen. He brought a winning attitude to Atlanta (along with Mike Bibby). He pretty much played very well but is it at the point where he’s leaning towards staying or do you think he will look towards a team like New York, New Jersey or Cleveland to go to?
Also, what do you think about Monta Ellis? I think he might be traded still

festar35ParticipantI think that Ellis should be traded now if the Warriors want to get really good return value for him. He is destroying everybody at the moment teams like Indiana, Chicago etc. could do with the offensive boost.
I think for JJ it will all depend on how the season finishes up, if he honestly believes that he can win a title in Atl he will stay if he doesn’t he will more than likely move to another team. (Similar to D-Wade)

IndianaBasketballParticipantI think Joe only cares about winning. I mean, it can’t be about money… He turned down $60 million. I agree with festar35 100%.

llperezI think Joe returns to atl. He knows that there is a good chance the stars of next years free agent period stay home and then they will be pushing management to sign some help like him, so he wants to keep his options open. But in the end, no one will throw much more then the 15 mill per at him and he will stay.
As for Ellis, I think everyone on the warriors is on the trading block, but I doubt they look for a trade. The warriors will probably wait to see if teams come after ellis and present good trade offers. If the warriors go shopping him, then they will look desperate and get less value for him.

nateoak10ParticipantAll the talk of his agent coming to talk about trades turned out to be fake. Ever since Jack was traded he has played like a super star. He’s basically the franchise player so he won’t be traded so get that out of your head. As for Joe I have a feeling he will be leaving the ATL. Maybe if New Jersey throws a max contract at him which I think they will.

JNixonParticipantJoe will stay. He’s like a rock star here in ATL. He’s the franchise player easily, and the organization will keep him, as long as the Hawks show they have the pieces to contend for the Finals. Which I think they’ll do. They did make it harder to keep him though, with they deals they gave Bibby and Marvin Willams. But they’ll make it happen.
Monta Ellis should be traded. I heard a rumor that he could be traded for Sam Dalembert and Rodney Carney or Willie Green. God I really hope that could fall through. I would be pretty happy about that.

burningfloodParticipantReally? You’d think the Warriors would trade Ellis for basically two really crappy players that wouldn’t even fit in Nellie’s system? Right…and then the 76ers would trade Iguodala and Ellis back for Dalembert, Carney/Green, George, Claxton, and Mikki Moore.

QHaynes20See hears the thing. I think if Atlanta can beat one of the big 3 ( Boston, Cleveland or Orlando) and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals? He would stay. Other then that, I don’t know about staying, I see him leaving.
I would love to get Monta in NY but not likely. I also read on ESPN that NY will be keeping the eye on the McGrady situation in Houston
