Jodie Meeks!!!!!!!!

Okay who ever is in charge of this site has lost any crediblity to his name because Jodie Meeks is nowhere to be found in the 2009 or 2010 draft! They need to do their research big time because Jodie Meeks is one of the best college players in America. Anybody see his 54point performance at Tennessee??? how about the 4 other 30+point games or that 46 point game against App State? Seriously redo your drafts because Jodie is a lottery pick, hes the next Ray Allen, nobody in college ball has a realease like Jodies!

lol

the next Ray Allen? lol far from it buddy...Jodie is a very good scorer at the college level, but he will struggle in the NBA. However, Jodie would be a perfect fit for a team like Golden State.

Meeks is at 51 - 2010 draft

Too low for a player like him. I see him as a first round draftee, maybe this year.

No way

The next Ray Allen? More like the next Anthony Morrow, which isn't a bad thing at all.

Next Ray Allen?

Jodie Meeks is not the next Ray Allen. I would compare him more to J.J. Reddick, only he is far quicker and more athletic than Reddick but both are great college scorers. Reddick was only taken so high in the NBA draft because he was a product of the ESPN and Dukie V hype machine. Meeks's college career has not been what Reddick's was thus far because he was out virtually his whole sophmore year due to injury. Both Meeks and Reddick are the same in that both are and were great four year college players that every college coach wants in their program in this day and age of basketball.

Umm yes Jodie Meeks plays

Umm yes Jodie Meeks plays alot like Ray Allen! Some people need to watch him play more than once or twce to know that I'm right! Jodie is a slasher hes quick as a cat and has great leaping abilities! Hes a knock down shooter burns holes threw the nets! Jodie being compared to Allen isn't far off! And whoever said he wouldnt be a good pro is bias and just dumb! The guy will be a lottery pick next year just wait and see! Even skip bayless thinks hes going to be a great pro. He even said better than Stephon Curry! Jodie has got a DWade build trust me hes going to be a explosive player!

I have seen every Kentucky

I have seen every Kentucky game Jodie Meeks has played in for his career. He is a scorer, both Stephon Curry and DWade fill the stat sheet up a little more than Meeks does. Curry is Davidson and does not have an All-American type big man inside like Patrick Patterson that defenses have to put into their defensive schemes. DWade dropped a triple-double on UK in 2003 when Marquette eliminated Kentucky (who was probably the best team in the countrythat year) from the NCAA tourney. Meeks is an explosive scorer but not the type of player that puts up triple-doubles like DWade or even double-doubles like Stephon Curry does.

Jodie Meeks; nba prospect

I really don't agree with most things that Skip Bayless says but I'm with him on the fact that Meeks is a better NBA prospect than Stephon Curry. Jodie Meeks is a great shooter just like Curry. What seperates Meeks from Curry is that he has the NBA body. Meeks is also more athletic than Curry. At 6'4 215 Meeks has the body and athleticism to be a great defender at the next level. Stephon Curry still has a high school body which will be a major concern for him at the next level; not saying that he want succeed though. But Meeks has a quick release and picture perfect form on his jumpshot which is rare for players with his build. But nonetheless, if I was an NBA GM I would probably draft either one on a need-basis. If my team needed to sell more tickets I would draft Curry because of his hype and charisma. But if my team needed more wins and immediate contribution I would draft Jodie Meeks.

skip bayless

skip bayless also said dwight howard was unathletic, so whatever he says i tend to think different. i think meeks is more like a jamal crawford.

Jodie will alright

Meeks reminds me of Crawford a little doesn't have that handle like Crawford, but as scorers they both have a sniper's mentality. Meeks could turn out to be a pretty good player maybe not a star but he can score and he has a pretty decent shot. NBA teams need as many shooters as possible for floor spacing.

Personally I wouldn't use

Personally I wouldn't use Skip Bayless' name to enhance my argument. I don't necessarily agree with comparing Curry and Meeks because you are comparing a 1-2 to 2-3 at the next level. I do agree that Meeks will be a surefire lottery pick when he comes out, he is absolutely nothing like JJ Redick. His body is absolutely sick, he's very athletic, not just a spot up shooter at the next level, and if you've watched him even just this year you can see how his game has evolved and improved just through the course of this season, and based on his athletic ability he seems to have a lot of upside. Even though they are different kind of players I don't think that the Ray Allen comparison is necessarily that far off. Not to say that he will ever be the caliber of player that Ray Allen has been for his career but if you have to pick an NBA comparison I think that Ray Allen is a very good choice. I think how weak these kids are that will be coming out this year and next enhance why he will be a lottery pick.

By the way I take Jodie

By the way I take Jodie Meeks over Chase Budinger right now, and Budinger is the #8 pick in this years draft according to the geniuses on this site

Jeff Teague, Wake Forest

I agree with you "wenich" except for you saying that Meeks will be a 3 at the next level. He's nowhere near an NBA 3. Meeks will be a strictly 2 at the next level. He lacks the ideal height to be a 3 at the next level. But my man right now is Jeff Teague from Wake Forest. Teague has really suprised me this year. At about 6'2 this kid is lightning quick and very talented. He has great ball handling, a good jumper, and great court vision. Teague is a great defender also, and his most intriguing asset is the killer instinct that he plays with. I think Teague will be a great point guard at the next level. I would love to see him stay one more year at Wake and get stronger but he"ll most likely be a lottery pick this year. And its hard to tell a kid thats a projected lottery pick to stay at school. But Jeff Teague is outstanding...

Aziatic you're right, I

Aziatic you're right, I thought Meeks was closer to 6'6, didn't realize he's only 6'4, but you're still comparing a combo guard who's mostly going to have to play the 1 (Curry) to someone who is strictly a 2 (Meeks). I also agree with you that Jeff Teague is nice, but I noticed that the release on his jumper is a little low, I think he has some work to do with his shooting mechanics. I'm also not sold yet on his game translating to the NBA immediately, but that might just be me I'm not really a big fan of smallish shoot first point guards.

Jeff Teague is tough but as

Jeff Teague is tough but as you said "wenich" he does have things that he will need to work on at the next level. But most players entering the draft do. Teague has somewhat of a set jumper which kind of scares me a little also. Teague will also need to bulk up and get stronger for the NBA, although he does possess good wiry strength. His quickness and ballhandling will be a major plus for him at the next level. But the thing about Teague that will help him out a lot in the league is that he's an advanced passer and creator. I think as a strictly point guard in the league he"ll be a solid player. But to me, what seperates Teague from alot of other players is his killer instinct(Chris Paul) on the court. He plays strictly to win and he's tough; and those are attributes that a lot of talented players lack.

Meeks coming back

If Billy G. can get both Jodie Meeks and Patrick Patterson to both come back for another year look out for Kentucky next year. They have a good high school class coming as well with both Orton and Hood.

Meeks is the Next Joe Dumars

If Eric Gordon, who also is an undersized shooting guard, at 6'3, can have success in the NBA, as a long range shooter, Jodie Meeks, who is an inch taller at 6'4 and is a better defender than Gordon is, will definitely have a good NBA career, barring injuries. I think he's the next Joe Dumars.

If Jodie develops his overall game

If Jodie develops his overall game, he could be the next Dumars. Just needs to work on his ballhandling to become more of a combo guard like Joe D. was but that will come with time and practice. I must admit that is a very good comparison, especially because they both have strong builds and shooting ability.

Meeks over Budinger??????????

Thats the most insane thing I have ever heard! Arizona hasnt been on espn all year and probably wont be on espn at all this year that Meeks is better than Budinger. Budinger is 6'7 athletic, pretty good passer with a great shooting stroke and can take it to the basket. You probably have never seen him play. I guess no one knows that the pac 10 is a major conference with teams ranked in the top 25. What does kentucky have? Wins over crummy teams and a win over tennesee who for some reason never double teamed meeks the entire game. Yea 54 points sure is impressive in a blow out where a team refuses to double team. I guess you havent heard of Eddie House (Arizona State) either. He scored 63 in a CLOSE overtime game. But I guess that doesnt matter to you or espn because the pac 10 I guess is a mid major conference with RANKED teams. Meeks is a great shooter but thats all he is. In the NBA he will be one of those situational guys who comes in when the team needs a three.

Jodie is...

Ben Gordon. Both are somewhat undersized 2 guards and both can drive and shoot the ball. Ray Ray is a stretch, but I'll take Ben Gordon any day.

Man, I've been reading this site

Man, I've been reading this site for 4 years, and this is the biggest oversight yet.....other than the monumental spike in Qyntel Woods near Draft Day a few years ago.
Jodie Meeks is below JP Prince and Alonzo Gee? Does NBAdraft think Meeks' game will not translate? Did you see Moe Williams play in college? He's doing pretty well now. Did anyone anywhere think that Keith Bogans, Jameer Nelson, Delonte West, CJ Watson or Chris Duhon would make tons of money by staying on NBA rosters? Not to mention Jameer is an all star.
Guards- if you can defend like heck, get to the rim when need be, and knock down "open" looks (even though nothing is wide open in the league), then you'll make the team. If you're mediocre in all of these areas, you'll be shopped (Raymond Felton) and ultimately cut (Dejuan Wagner pre-injury).
Sleeper guard of the free agent world this summer: Alex Renfroe of Belmont University....check him out. When they step up and play competition (Duke in the '08 tourney, Tennessee in regular season), killin em....
