JJ Redick

Does anyone know when if he is a FA after this season? or when his contract expires?
I like the way he's been playing but he's been buried on that bench with all of the Magic 3 pt shooters.
Are there any teams that may be interested in him?

He'll be a restricted free

He'll be a restricted free agent at the end of the season if Orlando gives him a qualifying offer. Thus, they will be able to match any contract offer he is given

i was thinking he could be a

i was thinking he could be a nice fit for the bulls too. get bosh/boozer/amare and a shooter like reddick along with another 2 guard with their pick. and if they can bring back something good from hinrich and deng. the bulls future is real bright. If they could somehow swing a deal for a legit scoring wing player, they could be scary. Like if they could get Rudy Gay, even as a third option would be a threat, and he can shoot as well.

never thought

of the bulls as a team 4 redick but now hearing u talk about it it makes a lot of sense. At the same time tho idk jj is 1 of my fav players but i wont lie he is a system player. U cant jus throw him on any team like the warriors or sum team that thrives in 1 on 1 and open court play. I think hed be a nice fit wi tthe lakers or the jazz. some place where hes coming off screens will be good 4 him.

same with the bulls

Ya i never thought about him playing there either he would give some good spacing for Rose. He is also one of my fav. players to watch and I feel he has improved greatly on Def. to at least be in a rotation w/his outside shooting ability but if someone is having a good shooting night in Orlando he won't get in the game. I didn't know he was a RFA so I'm sure the magic will match an offer for him unless he gets some crazy contract that a team gives him just to scare off Orlando from matching. I was thinking maybe a team like the Spurs/Celtics (help fill ray allen's role if he leaves) or a team def. oriented system that could help him out if he gets beat by quicker guards.

Charlotte? I think we saw

Charlotte? I think we saw they are in desperate need of a shooter & Stephen Jackson is aging..maybe Redick can help ease the minutes on him. I don't know the story on Hughes next year..

its funny how we all thought

its funny how we all thought jj was a terrible pick, and granted there could have been a better player on the board, but he has blossomed into a decent nba player. he tries on defense, is a good shooter, and makes smart decisions with the ball. any team he goes to will have a good player, but you cant overpay him at the same time, which i can see happening. no more than like 4 or 4.5 mil a year because he would be a below average starter. but point is, he isnt the bust we thought he was.

Honestly, I've always liked

Honestly, I've always liked Redick as a player coming to the NBA, but in college I was more of a Morrison fan, but I enjoyed watching Redick play..When the Magic drafted him I couldn't help, but think he's going to ruin with them..I didn't think he was going in the Lotto, I thought he might slip...I been rooting for him ever since so I really hope he can keep things going the way they are and improve. Believe it or not, he has helped keep the Magic in some games especially in the first two Boston games. I think he can actually become a starter down the line, but for now..He's best used as a 7th, 8th Man off the bench.

LOL & I know I might be mocked for this, but I'm actually a fan of One Tree Hill..which started off with Basketball; That's what got my attention, but I swear Nathan Scott off of OTH reminds me so much of JJ Redick, in fact...in the show he was suppose to go to Duke. Haha.

Don't forget that Charlotte

Don't forget that Charlotte has Gerald Henderson.

I like Reddick, I hope he ends up in a situation next year where he can show off his skills. In Chicago he could be a 6th man or even start at the 2 and have Hinrich move back to the 6th man spot that was so good for them two years ago.

He could work well in DC

John Wall needs some serious 3 point shooting support to capitalize on his mad drive-and-kick-out skills.

Redick has improved a lot

Redick has improved a lot since coming into the league. I've actually seen him cross a couple of guys in the playoffs, which he never would've been able to do when he first arrived. I heard a commentator mention the other night that he was the best conditioned athlete on the team.

LOL at him going to Charlotte

He would be a great addition for the Cats but what makes me laugh os that they boo him there. It's more of Tar Heel people there than Blue Devils!

Redick to Charlotte?!? Not

Redick to Charlotte?!? Not happening.... as long as Larry Brown is coach. Larry likes his wings to be long athletes who can cover a lot of ground. That's why he got rid of Matt Carroll and Adam Morrison. Also, Larry hates the 3-point shot. He'd rather have players who are good drivers.

Now, could you or I find use for Redick on Charlotte's roster? Absolutely. But we are not Larry Brown, and for better or worse, Charlotte is lucky to have Coach Brown.

Now, if Brown doesn't return.....who knows?

I think J.J. is fortunate to be where he is, playing alongside a true low post threat in Howard, and sharing the court with some good athletes. Charlotte doesn't have the low post guy for him to play off of.

Another thought for Redick would be to play somewhere with a bigger, long PG. He and Jameer Nelson have some physical shortcomings on defense no matter how hard they try.

Bulls, as mentioned before? Wizards?
