So rumour is that Bulls are starting to shop him. To you guys see them going into full rebuild mode after this season?
I imagine they see out Wade’s contract (he has a player option at the end of this correct?) and potentially guys like Gibson, Lopez even Mirotic may find themselves on way out of town.

Where do you think Jimmy ends up? The best fit and likely destination is sure to be Boston according to experts but where else could make a strong play?

Minnesota – A reunion with Thibbs and he could bring some hard nose defensive intensity to a team that needs it, again young talent could easily be obtained in return (Levine or Wiggins).

Jimmy is a major trading piece. If we want to rebuild, he has to go. This year he has shown he can be "the man" and keep his great fg% numbers up. If you are a playoff team and Jimmy is your number 2 guy, then you are in great shape.

Niko is still young enough to stay will the Bulls and be a big piece of the rebuild.

The rest can go for all I care. Taj is great role player, but way too old for a rebuild.

     Utah Recieves-Jimmy Butler

    Boston Recieves-Gordon Hayward

Chicago Recieves-Dante Exum, Brooklyn Pick, a bunch of Celtics prospects and someone to match salaries.

no way Boston gets Hayward over Butler despite his relationship with Stevens. Boston can get Hayward without giving  up anything next year as a free agent. And as much as I like want/like Butler for Boston, think the Wolves could offer a better package

The Bulls need to rebuild. GarPax brought in a bunch of aging players (Rondo, Wade) that really do not fit the system Hoilberg runs and the Bulls front office said they wanted to run when they fired Thibs. This team is doomed to be first round fodder at best as presently constructed. Now, in terms of where to trade Butler (if they in fact do trade him), Boston and Minnesota are the two that make the most sense at first. The problem with Minnesota is I do not see them giving up KAT, Wiggins, or Lavine and without one of those three, I am not sure a deal makes sense. Minnesota has no spare first rounders and cannot trade its own until 2020, so I am not sure they have enough assets to entice the Bulls (as mentioned before, if they refuse to part with one of the three young stars they have). The Celtics make more sense. Brooklyn’s pick this year, plus Boston’s pick in 2018, and Memphis’s pick in 2019, plus one of Smart or Brown might get it done (I doubt Boston gives up both Brooklyn picks unless there are other parts to the trade).

for all the Brooklyn picks lol….really though those picks will be very high and you could potentially get a jimmy butler type in josh Jackson on s rookie deal and a top pick to pair with him next year or any combination of great young talent! You then have wade to mold them and his contract isn’t as bad because your core is rookies, now you have money and young talent!

If Chicago do go into rebuild then a lot of the team will suddenly be on the market. Taj Gibson is a FA this summer, a contender would likely make him an offer to be a good back up. Robin Lopez is on a cap friendly deal and contenders always want decent big men so he’d get takers.

Rondo is only on a two year deal, at worse he has expiring contract value next season. Any deal with Boston could possibly take him back there if Bulls tried to dump salary.

The likes of Mirotic who will be an RFA could well be kept but a lot would depend what sort of salary he wanted.

D-Wade has a player option and won’t get that money elsewhere but I could see him possibly opting in and wanting to be part of the rebuild as a mentor but Chicago may hope he opts out given his salary.

Butler would have high trade value given he is at his peak or near to it has two full years on his deal after this and his salary is below what a player of his ability would get in the current market.

Boston is a legit landing spot for him but I still think Ainge waits until he knows what the Brooklyn pick brings and what offers he could get for it.

Unless Boston blows them away with a package, there’s suitors in the opposite conference who have young talent and draft picks to offer too.

Minnesota as mentioned earlier. They talked around the draft, and they need vet leadership badly.

Denver has been trying hard to get a star for the last 3 years…they’d give up a lot to get one that’s locked into a contract like Jimmy.

Phoenix is in flux, and even though they’re currently tanking it wouldn’t surprise me to see them jump in on a wing like Butler who can play with Bled and Booker long-term.

Utah has finally taken a step forward, and they keep saying they want to keep Hayward around…but do they really want to pay him the amount he’s going to command on the open market when they still have to pay Hill and Gobert’s big extension kicks in next year. I could see them flipping him with another young piece like Burks or Exum to get Butler on a bargain deal for the next 3-4 years.

Portland has a lot of young guys on unattractive contracts, but they’ll try to find their way into talks if Jimmy is indeed available.

LA Lakers will definitely be in on him. This whole embracing the youth movement and rebuilding is a front. They want a big name in the worst way and to get back in play for big free-agents. They’d gladly give up Clarkson, Ingram and a future pick for Jimmy Butler.

If the Bulls could get a package of a young stud prospect & a 2017 Lottery pick or a 2017 & 2018 1st round pick that you Know are Lottery picks – the Nets picks from Boston for example I’d do it b/c losing Butler puts the Bulls in the Lottery as well

So they could reload Fast…… The NBA is so unlike any other lEague in that it is Super Star dependant & there is really only one place to find these Great players & that is the top of the Draft Lottery.
