Jimmer Fredette wants to be a Knick

According to his brother TJ Fredette, Jimmer Fredette wants to play for the New York Knicks next year they are his top choice.

I don't know how they could get him though without a trade because Fredette isn't going to fall into the late teens, early twenties. So if the Knicks want Fredette they are going to have to make a trade.

The Jimmer

I believe Jimmer is a NY state product so makes sense he would like to return. He would be fun to watch in that system.

Although- the Kincks already have Andy Rautins, so why do they need his clone?

LOL at "why do they need his

LOL at "why do they need his clone", Rautins and Fredette aren't very similar other than being white and being able to shoot.

Comedian I am Not

Sorry gents- it was an attempt at humor. I see very few similarities between the two outside of what has already been pointed out.

That was no joke.. Trying to

That was no joke.. Trying to save face is more embarassing than admiting fault...

Anyway

If I were in line to pick Jimmer, and the Knicks approached me about a potiental trade, I would be more than happy to trade!
I think that Jimmer is great but he isnt going to have much impact on the NBA unless he is in the right system and NY runs one of those systems.

If I am Charlotte, I would be more than happy to trade Jimmer for a player and a pick:

Maybe,
10th pick
FOR
Toney Douglas and 17th Pick..

Then, the Bobcats get a scorer off the bench and a guy like Tyler Honeycutt, maybe Brandon Knight, Kemba Walker, William Buford, Jordan Hamilton..

All of those guys would help the Bobcats make this transition from a Larry Brown team..

Question is:
Does NY want Jimmer??

Fredette would be an absolute

Fredette would be an absolute monster in New York. Teams would be forced to play him man to man, teams best perimeter defenders would have to key in on Billups and best wing defenders on Anthony. This is exactly what they saw glimpses of in Rautins, but Rautins seems to be just a product of Coach Boheim, is undersized and not athletic enough for the NBA. Fredette is quicker, stronger, more athletic, a better shooter, a better all around scorer, ha. Really scary to think of the damage he could do in NY.

Actually, I think Fredette

Actually, I think Fredette could be a very similar player to Toney Douglas in the NBA...with less D that is

Was just thinking about the

Was just thinking about the Bobcats trading down for Douglas and the pick... What if they drafted Kenneth Faried?? Then, MJ could hire Dennis Rodman as a "Special Coach" and turn this guy into Rodman 2.0... LoL... Just thinking that the league needs another Rodman type player... KLove just doesnt get it done for me...

Charlotte already has the

Charlotte already has the perfect guy to develop a guy like Farried, Charles Oakley. To expect a guy like Rodman to come out of this draft the 10 to 20 position is absurd. Charlotte is currently using Oakley to develop Thomas at that PF position thou so I dont see Faried as an essenital need. They need a PG, like lets say...Fredette lol. They lack scoring, and they play a halfcourt set. Charlotte already has a great defense, and MJ could attempt to bring the best out of Jimmer.

Jimmer would be a great 6th

Jimmer would be a great 6th man for a playoff team or a team that should make the playoffs. If Utah starts playing better, which might be the case now that CJ Miles is starting, (They did just beat the 76ers and they were up by as many 21 points in that game. They finally playing stifling defense. I see a change for them if they continue to start CJ and play some defense like the game last night) then Utah could make the playoffs as an 8th seed and could use a 6th man like Jimmer. The 8th seed in the playoffs would get them about 15-18 pick which is right where Jimmer's stock is at. As I said before the Jazz need a 6th man especially if they are going to start CJ who was their former 6th man. Also the Jazz could lose their 2 back up point guards in the offseason because they are both free agents and who knows what will happen with the expected low salary cap next year. Who's gonna back up Devin Harris. I think Jimmer could stay at home (Utah) He could be a perfect 6th man, back up PG to Harris and he would certainly give Utah that scoring off the bench. (I am not just some guy who loves Jimmer and wants him to stay home, I used to not want the Jazz to draft Jimmer but just yesterday I was thinking about this and I thought it wouldn't be that bad if he was in this situation.)

Yeah he wants to be a Knick but the Knicks don't really need a PG. They have Toney Douglas and Rautins why would they need another one? Billups will retire soon, but lets face it that spot is reserved for CP3 or Dwill, not a 6th man PG who may or may not come into his own. The Knicks need a big man not a 6th man PG. I really think he could stay home with Utah and be their 6th man in case Watson and Price leave via free agency and CJ continues to start. Or he could go to New Orleans who might loose CP3. If Jimmer learns how to pass well and play good D. he could be the PG that could help New Orleans not fall when CP3 leaves. Or he could the sixth man since they just traded their former sixth man Marcus Thornton and they will need a backup to Jack in case CP3 does leave. I think Jimmer could stay home with Utah or go to New Orleans or maybe Indy (Although I think Indy will draft Kemba or Knight)

Actaully im wrong about the

Actaully im wrong about the halfcourtset, they are actaully running a bit now. still Jimmer, walker, or Knight is who I see Charlotte select.

I'd be shocked to see

I'd be shocked to see Charlotte take Fredette. I think they'll go for Brandon Knight. He can score, defend, and he's got size. He's not quite a PG right now, but I think he will develop into one. He's not a true SG, and he's shown some command of UK's offense since the early goings of the season. Knight is admittedly a safer pick than Fredette, and an easier bet to translate his game to the NBA, as much as I like Jimmer.

I'm not completely sold on

I'm not completely sold on Jimmer yet when it comes in terms of possible NBA production.

I mean I love Jimmers game as much as the next nbadraft user but I don't know how well he will be able to score with bigger, faster and stronger athetes.

I don't mean to compare him to Adam Morrison but so many people were high on him coming out to the draft cause he could flat out score and look how well he did in the NBA.

All I'm saying is don't get too high on him quite yet as an NBA player and let's just enjoy watching him in March Madness.

2 things that seperate

2 things that seperate Morrison from Jimmer are stregnth and creatability... Morrison never created a shot, he just put his head down and drove hard.. And, he was weak in NBA terms... Jimmer has his NBA body, now does he have his NBA skillset?? IDK...

Jimmer would be great for the

Jimmer would be great for the Knicks but they have their PG options going elsewhere, as a 6th man then that would be perfect but I'd prefer the Knicks to take a big this year ideally.

If the Knicks pick say 16 to 20 and Jimmer falls from say a projected 8th to 10th draft place, then they aren't that far from getting him in their range. Don't forget they could use their resources to pay for a trade up or buy another pick and package that with their own one. Would Charlotte turn down $3 million for example to trade down a few places?

As A Bulls Fan

I actually would love to see Jimmer in Chicago. They have two late 1st round picks though and unless they move up, Jimmer is a pipe dream to fall that far. Some earlier thread compared Jimmer to Jeff Hornacek and while I think Jimmer is an upgrade athletically, I don't think that comparison is too far off.

Yeah, unlike a lot of guys

Yeah, unlike a lot of guys with knocks on NBA level athleticism Jimmer at least has above average strength and probably is one of the strongest guards in this year's draft class. That will help him create space and take the hits he's going to as a pro.

No reason for the Knicks to pick him. They have there starter and back up set. They need to trade the pick for a defensive big man
