ThenilonatorParticipanti love west’ comments regarding Lebron James and what he has accomplished. One of the stats I found crazy was that he has never entered a final series as the favourite, I know the western conference is stronger but that’s crazy. We are all so quick to hate on people rather than appreciate things for what they are and I think west summed it up perfectly.
Off topic…… What is the recent fascination in having the national anthem played and not sung, small issue but there are words for a reason!

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantI heard that and he was no doubt favored to beat the Mavs

Arc12345ParticipantI’ll agree he wasn’t the favorite when he was in Cleveland either time. I’ll also agree he wasn’t the favorite when he played the Spurs when in Miami either time and when they played Dallas (it was the big 3’s first year together).
But I refuse to say they weren’t the favorite when they played OKC. That OKC team was so inexperienced and young, it was honestly surprising they got there in the first place. KD and Westbrook were 23 while Harden and Ibaka were 22. That’s a pretty young and inexperienced OKC squad.
Miami had Lebron who was 27, Wade who was 30, and Bosh who was 28, all pretty much in their physical prime. I know it’s not all about age, but on that stage, some experience really helps.
So I give Lebron for pulling the upset against the Spurs (on a Ray Allen miracle). Let’s not act like he was the underdog everytime though.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantThe heat were favored to beat the mavs in 2011 and were favored by many to beat the spurs in 2013. 2012 vs. okc was basically a toss up but they weren’t underdogs by any means. 2007, 2014 and 2015 his teams were heavily overmatched and really didn’t have much of a chance. You could have put Michael Jordan in his prime on those teams replacing lebron and I doubt the outcome would be much different.
I actually thought just getting to the finals in 2007 was an incredible accomplishment regardless of the fact that they got swept. That Cleveland team just wasn’t very good at all. The only loss where I thought he could have played better and really changed the outcome of the series was 2011.

capecodderParticipantI am not a Lebron backer, although I think he’s an all time great, but it has a lot to do with the opponents
Setphen A Smith claims that West should say that as he was 1-8 in finals….he had Baylor and , for a few times, Chamberlain, but went aginst the Russell dynastyLebron should have beat the Mavericks, but other than that, no negatives

BiggaveliiiParticipantLebrons a great no denying that but allstars doesnt guarantee you championships, great role players do. If you spend all your money on grabbing allstars thats great but why not focusing on placing priority on great role players like San Antonio has over the years and even Golden state with Livingston, Barbosa, Bogut. If Lebron loses this year he will be 2-4 with "Big 3’s" thats 4 different allstars and all nba players on his team. Hes definetly played way better since the finals against the Mavs. What i will say is that Kevin Love trade for Wiggins will haunt the Cavs for a long long long time. He is not made for this team idc what anyone says hes not going to bring you a championship. Tough luck for Lebron i feel for him hes a beast im not taking his 6 str8 finals appearances for granted hes a legend, and i do think Golden state is going to win. Offseason for the Cavs and Lebron is going to be a spectacle.

NBAjunkie81ParticipantDallas & OKC & 1 of the 3 San Antonio Finals……. Let’s Not even get into whether Jordan or Kobe could have even gotten 2007 & 2015 Cavs to those Finals b/c it’s No…………]
San Antonio & Golden State were Both All Time Great teams…………. It just Is what it is……… The teams the Lakers & Bulls played in the Finals……..
the Sonics, Suns, Jazz, Lakers, Trailblazers, 76ers, Nets, Pacers, Celtics & Magic………. All had Individual Great players but NONE………….. – Not One – was a Great team…….
& Lebron’s Teams would have Killed ALL 10 of the Teams that Kobe & Michale beat (Jazz 2x)………. I’m not a big Lebron fan…… I Idolized Jordan growing up………. I was a Huge Kobe fan……….. Lebron irritates me but fair is fair & truth is truth is truth…………
Had Jordan faced Spurs 3x & Golden State 2x – he would be 4 -3 or maybe 5 -2……… Kobe’s Lakers w/o Shaq would Not have won even One of those series……. W/ Shaq they go 4 -3 or 5 -2 just like Mike & the Bulls………………..

SubZeroParticipantProbably the argument that ticks me off the most is when people talk about how Kobe only won cause of Shaq. Well there’s 2 pretty huge and obvious problems with that reasoning: Shaq wouldn’t have won without Kobe either, and every one of the greats has had another all-time great on their team. Magic-Kareem-Worthy, Bird-McHale-Parish, Jordan-Pippen, Wilt-West, Oscar-Kareem, Lebron-Wade, Russell-Jones-Havlicek. So let’s stop even making that argument because it holds no weight and only tries to discount Kobe’s absolute greatness. Also, MJ wouldn’t have lost any of those series either
And Lebron’s teams would’ve KILLED every team that Kobe and Michael beat? Wow. Just……………..wow

goodsense3Participant1st finals- Spurs was too raw and experienced.
2nd finals- Heat were fav because of talent but Mavs had a lil more experience and was heatles 1st yr together
3rd finals- Heat was fav of course against superyoung okc team
4th finals- Heat were slight favorite against experienced Spurs and bron would have only 1 championship currently like j.west if it wasnt for Ray Allen superclutch bailout gm 6 3pt shot.
5th finals- Heat were slight fav against Spurs again but lost by my worst finals pt margin ever trying to go for 3peat and causes bron to bolt back to cavs
6th finals- Cavs were not fav especially after kyrie went down after gm 1 and love was out. The other parts of big 3
7th finals- Cavs def not fav going against a team who broke season winning record but cavs are at full strength and looks like they will do worst than last yr in finals as they could possibly get swept if they lose gm 3 in cleveland. Wed night gonna be interesting

BeastMode716ParticipantNo one said Lebron’s teams would beat Jordan or Kobe the point was of the 11 Rings Jordan & Kobe won only Kobe’s 2010 Ring over the Celtics was a win over a Championship winning team…….
I never realized that but it’s true
If Lebron’s teams played teams like the New Jersey Nets, Indiana Pacers, Seattle Supersonics, Portland Trailblazers, Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz, 91′ Lakers, Orlando Magic, 01′ Sixers – Lebron would have had a "Better" record than 2 – 5 – Not a better record than Jordan or Kobe
And if Kobe or Jordan played on Lebron’s Teams (instead of him) & the Jordan or Kobe led Heat or Cavs played the Same teams like the Spurs & Warriors in the Finals they would have each lost 2 or 3 times in 7 tries
I think that’s a fair assessment
It’s similar to Wilt Chamberlain who win 2 Rings & is an All Time great but only beat Russell’s Celtics Once in 10 tries
B/c Basketball is a Team game & no Matter how great an Individual is, the Greatest TEAM will Always win the Gold Rings……….
