Flameres15ParticipantIs there any way the Thunder trade Jeremy Lamb? I know he was a big piece of the James Harden deal, but could they trade him for a solid player? Or is there too much pride involved? Here are some teams in need of a starting 2-guard:
Hawks
Cavs
Bucks
76ers
Celtics
Hornets
Nuggets
Bulls
Grizzlies
Pacers potentially

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantWe get our SG in Lamb and a nice F to play with Noel in PJ3, and who knows maybe Perry Jones still has some potential left to become a good player at PF, Perkins helps toughen up the youngsters and rolls off the books soon anyway…
Thunder get a great 6th man/Starter in Thad Young and also get the 32nd pick to find another shooter on the cheap (McDaniels/Hairston/Dinwiddie), they also save a few million by unloading Perkins, keep a frontcourt player and add a pick in the top of the 2nd round, Reggie Jackson could be retained without breaking the bank in Luxary Taxes and you remain in Win Now Mode…
What about it? Thad and 32 for J.Lamb, PJ3 and Perkins?

tblazer_NZParticipantWhy would OKC want the 32nd pick when they already have the 21st and 29th. Thad is getting 9+million for the next two years. They would be better off targeting Pau Gasol in a sign and trade,

Flameres15ParticipantThe Thunder are a cheap organization, take James Harden for example. They wouldn’t want to have Thadeus Young on the books for 8million for the next 2 years. Young also doesn’t fit the team’s system, but it would be interesting. Ibaka would have to play the 5, with Young at the 4. Again, it would only work in a dream scenario.

r377ParticipantThabo is a free agent. Lamb has great potential he just needs more time to develop. I would be very surprised if they traded him………….

The GoatParticipantI know theres FAs involved, but how about working out a trade of something like Thabo, Caron Butler and Reggie Jackson to Indiana for Stephenson and George Hill…?

tblazer_NZParticipantThe salaries aren’t even close to matching. They would be well into the luxury tax to do that. If they were willing to go into the tax then James Harden would still be on the Thunder. George Hill is getting 8 mil a year and Lance will likely get the same or more.

ThunderHog35ParticipantSo people keep mentioning Harden as a reference point for saying the Thunder don’t want to go into the luxury tax. The Thunder offered as much as $14.5 million/yr, which would have put them well into the projected tax, but Harden wouldn’t settle for anything less than the full max. So while they don’t take going into the tax lighty, they’ve shown they are willing to do it.

Flameres15ParticipantIf we were just to throw out the salaries, and look at how they would fit into the team,it isn’t pretty. George Hill may work on the Thunder’s roster as a 2 guard, but Stephenson would kill the ball movement. Stephenson needs a few years to develop a mature team attitude. Hill is also older than Lamb and Jackson. It seems like too much for an overplayed, underwhelming player.

morestealsthanscoresParticipantBulls, Grizz, Pistons and T’Wolves are my favourites…I’d love to see Lamb playing with a legit centre so that he gets more catch & shoot oppurtunities. Trouble is, if I’m OKC, I don’t know if there’s anyone I really want on those four rosters…

ditotayParticipanthave Lamb on my team the Bulls. Under coach Thibs I think he would develope into a terrific two way player, perhaps with a better offensive game than Jimmy Butler. But I don’t think the Thunder are going to trade him, as I think they are confident they will develop Lamb into a solid starting two guard. Maybe if they think they are getting a second tier star.

Flameres15ParticipantI definitely think that Lamb would thrive as a Bull, but he won’t be traded until the deadline. No team I listed has anything the Thunder would want. It makes sense to wait and insert Lamb into the starting line up. If he does extremely well, they should have options. The Thunder could move him to a team like the Bulls for a player like Jimmy Butler (it all depends on who has a better year), who is a great defender. Or they can keep him and look to move Reggie Jackson. Jackson will be due for an extension, and the Thunder won’t be able to give him one.

The GoatParticipantI know the salaries dont match and there are FAs involved, i said that. Unless you know exactly what the FAs are going to get, you cant calculate a deal, but i get that with that entire group as is itd wouldnt work. Anyway, despite the hate, I still think something based around Reggie on the Pacers and Stephenson to the Thunder is worth exploring. Neither team are going to win standing pat. Thabo was basically not used when it counted for OKC, and the Pacers need more from the point.
