Another Big East junior SG from Seton Hall. He is a junior and for the last 2 seasons he has been lighting up the scoreboard. I have not seen much of him, but I can tell he shoots way too much, but is way to 3 happy for someone with a percentage that is below average. He is 6-5 and about 190, that is the same listing as Jamal Crawford. If this guy develops a better shot selection and shots less 3’s he probably could be a lot like Jamal Crawford, but if he doesn’t improve his game and accept his role then he’ll be another Ricky Davis. Thoughts??

He can’t defend any SGs in the NBA. His defense is pretty awful.  He doesn’t do anything well except score.  He might be a 2nd round pick in 2011.

Thanks Gatorheels. I don’t think a scorer can be underestimated, he will definitely be a 2nd rounder in 2011. How is his athleticism? If it above average then I think his D can be improved upon.

for me i think jamal crawford, or even ricky davis is a bit of a reach for hazell to be compared to. both are much more complete players (both have averaged over/close to 20 ppg and apg per night) all 3 players are average/below average players, but i see hazell as more of a anthony morrow type of player, very one dimensional (shooting, scpring, though i do see his potential to be a better penetrator and finisher). if u want a ambitious comparison i guess you could say kevin martin, all he does is chuck up shots and thats pretty much it, much like hazell does for seton hall

and no way is hazell in the same class athletically as ricky davis (back then, idk which ricky you were comparing hazell too) as for crawford, crawford has one of the best crossovers in the league and is one of the most explosive shooting guards in the nba

I was thinking Morrow. Morrow is a better pure shooter(i think the best pure shooter) but Hazell is better at coming off picks and pin downs.

^ yeah Morrow is a better pure shooter for sure.

Hazell really isn’t that good of a shooter he just shoots a lot resulting in him scoring a lot of points. He has a pretty quick release & good size so he can get his shot anytime he wants.

He is just an average athlete.  But his defense can improve if he gains some weight, puts more effort into it, & somebody teaches him how to be a better defender.

Kevin Martin was a very good comparison. I like that one alot. I have questions about whether or not he’s an NBA player because he’s not very good at anything else, but hey, Kevin Martin is one-dimensional as well
