knicksfreakParticipantHas Jennings absence from the draft combine and Eurocamp hurt his draft stock or has he been promised to be taken by a lottery team?

iguapops420ParticipantCan’t see jennings falling out of the top 10. Too much potential. Highest ceiling in draft imo.Thats including Blake excluding MAYBE Rubio.

knicksfreakParticipantSo you think he was promised to be taken top 10?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 5:49pm #157249
iguapops420ParticipantI’m not saying Jennings has or has not been promised, just that his talent, athleticism, potential, and bball IQ will be too much for a team in need of point guard to pass on. This kid good be GREAT. Jennings is the kind of kid we would have seen in years past skip all of these events anyways. If anything going to europe helped him as NBA scouts knew wha he was capable of doing prior and now he’s got a year of “slow it down” intangible Euroball under his belt. If nothing more, that year humbled and matured B-Don.

knicksfreakParticipantHe should have come and shown his physical talent. I hope he has a promise or else I see him dropping out of the lottery.

auberParticipantI thought he wasn’t at the combine because his european team was in the playoffs. If he goes past 8 he’s a steal.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 6:18pm #157282
iguapops420Participantknicksfreak….i promise do not worry…jennings will not fall out of the top 10 much less lottery. Not in a draft where 8 out of the top 10 picks will be role players at best. As good as this draft for point guards, Jennings is still one of the few who is an elite athlete, true point , and someone who put on the right team will be a ticket saler. Milwaukee wouldn’t let him slip by and MOST CERTAINLY the Suns wouldn’t.

knicksfreakParticipantI agree he has the upside. I just question why he isnt going to the Eurocamp. I had a brief lapse in memory about the combine. He has the skills to really shine at Eurocamp and I think he is one of very few in this draft that could be a star. If he doesnt have a guarantee from a team already then I will bet anyone that he drops out of the top 10. He is sliding just like Bayless did while Holiday is rising just like Westbrook did.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 6:32pm #157306
iguapops420ParticipantDifference being that Bayless fell to 10 in a GREAT draft because of a lack of PG abilities outside of being small and having a handle. The Exact difference could be said for Jennings as originally there werequestions about his attitude. A year as a 10 minute guy under players not nearly as talented in europe took care of that, and his jumper is one of the few things h needs to improve upon. Lucky for him is the easiest thing to work on in the NBA. Point being is that Jennings has Westbrook athleticism with an extremely high bball IQ….can the same be said for Bayless?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 6:39pm #157318
knicksfreakParticipantBayless has the athleticism but he is more of a combo guard. I wasnt comparing the players just the draft scenerios. I am a big Jennings fan but he is being pushed into the back of teams minds by being absent and is rubbing some teams the wrong way by not participating. I think it is safe to say the Europe experiment has failed horribly.

iguapops420ParticipantHis team was still in playoffs during combine. Agree to Disagree?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 6:57pm #157344
knicksfreakParticipantAgree. I just want to see more of him. Official measurements, athleticism, etc… Cant wait to read about team workouts.

iguapops420ParticipantI agree on that with you knicksfreak….i would have LOVED to see his official athletic test and measurments. I too can’t wait for his team workout reviews to start popping up.

Meditated StatesParticipantHe will be in the best shape of his life after the season and training he just had this past year. He was a freak already I’m certain he is stronger, faster, and quicker than he has ever been. Teams will regret it if he slips out of the top ten.

zmarquisParticipantSo much on the court to like. I get the feeling some baggage will be present off the court. Really don’t see him passing golden state or the knicks so the 4-8 depending on team needs and likes on the guys who do show up to workouts etc..

KevinDurantRocksParticipantWould be happy to pick Jennings with the 8th wont slide past there
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/06/2009 - 6:33am #157487
iguapops420Participant^^^^Exactly. Too many teams in need of a young point uard an this guy has the highest ceiling fo PG’s in this draft, excluding Rubio, and even that’s not a certainty.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/06/2009 - 9:33am #157621
ctw724ParticipantI have seen some mock drafts having Golden State take him at #7. However, I would love to see the Bulls trade up to #7 and grab DeJuan Blair. If that happens, I could see Jennings falling all the way down to #16 potentially, where the Warriors could grab him, if they switched picks with the Bulls.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/06/2009 - 10:15am #157646
iguapops420Participant^^^ doubtful. If a team like GS is after jennings, they wont trade out of lottery and hope he falls, b/c they have to realize that there the bucks have publicly stated they are after a pg in the draft, as have the nets and suns. And the Pacers would have to take a look as a means of maing jack happy and TJ tradeable for the big they need so bad. So i just don’t se the warriors making that choice. And i fully expect to see him taken by gs if his name hasn’t already been called.

ctw724ParticipantRubio
Curry
Flynn
Maynor
Jennings
Lawson
Williams (to some extent)
Price
Douglas
McNeal
RiceThe point being, they could find a PG later in the draft.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/06/2009 - 4:33pm #157804
iguapops420ParticipantNot with Jennings’ potential and most certainly Not starter worthy. Of the above stated players, i see two i would consider true point guard with flynn on the edge.
Curry isn’t a point guard other than in certain offenses.
Williams may be a facilitator type, but h is most certainly not a point guard.
Maynor is a workout warrior who was badass at a crappy school,
AJ Price…hahaha…he more or less lost his lead gurad role to freshman Kemba Walker. ANd withthat kind of athleticism, talk about marcus Williams Part two. At least marcus had the priviledge of playing behind Kiddfor a year. and he still couldn’t make the GS team tha was in Extreme need for true point to set up all their scorers.
Toney douglas? Slow ballhandler whether his athletic numbers say h’s fast or not. Not explosve at all can’t consistently get into the paint, thus making him a pure jumpshooter which if you askQuincyDouby, JJ Reddick, and Adam Morrison makes for a hell of a college player. Not so much forthe pro’s. Douglas MIGHT become a Derek Fisher or Sedale Threat type, but even that i questionable as hehas no playmaking skills. even less than Fisher. Tyres Rice might end up a steal, but there s a reason he wasn’t even invited to the PreDraft combne.
Mcneal? could b a good player but not a PG of the future. The Only point guards i would even consider taking ahead of BJ is Rubio guaranteed, Teague, maybe, and my boy Holiday i wouldn’t even give another thought beteen the two. And those are theother points i expect to stand out from ths class. My fifh would probably be betwen Curry depending if he can become Bibby, and Flynn ifhe can ever get his decision making and jumper together.

davidrobertsParticipantI agree with you, that’s correct, the only point guards i would even consider taking ahead of BJ is Rubio guaranteed. PR company Mcneal yes, could be a good player but not a PG of the future, that’s for sure.

canejasonParticipantIt’s DoubtfulI thought he wasn’t at the combine because his european team was in the playoffs. If he goes past 8 he’s a steal. Private bus Hire
