Teague to start next season?

Jeff Teague | Hawks
Many, including Hawks co-owner Michael Gearon Jr., thought rookie Jeff Teague should have played more this season, but it didn't happen. It will next season. Head coach Mike Woodson told Mike Bibby that Teague will be given the opportunity to become the starting point guard.
"He's getting older now," Woodson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution of Bibby. "He might have taken us as far as he can take us. Teague, we probably have to give him first crack to see if he can do the job [next season]."
Bibby apparently took the news well: "Mike is always about winning. He is the ultimate pro. He knows the dynamics of a team. He knows he's getting older. That's no knock on him. Mike Bibby has had a great career. And make no mistake about it, we wouldn't have gotten this far without Mike Bibby," said Woodson.

Makes sense. This is what Teague was drafted for and Bibby is aging--probably play out the final 2 years of his contract than call it a career.
There were quite a few people on here who said Teague wouldn't be a starter or regular rotation player for a couple of seasons. Looks like they were wrong.
I was one of those people saying Teague should've played more this year and that next year he'd definitely be pushing Bibby. I've been knowing Teague for awhile and I think he can be a top 10 or 15 point guard in the league *later on down the line*.
I WAS JUST GONNA MAKE A POST ON HIM LOL
As if they have any other option....
Teague also has been learning from Bibby, and I think he'll be a solid starter later in his career.
Honestly I think Teague is an amazing player in terms of athletic abillity and poise. This guy is a special player a very rare player that doesnt come around often.I was gonna make a post saying "What does everybody think about Teague's cieling".I think he can be a real good athletic floor general.
Jeff Teague will be a Jason "Jet" Terry
I think Teague will be the starter by about the 10th-15th game next year roughly. Bibby is a liability scoring and on D. He can only score when wide open, and he can't defend anybody really. He is a better pure PG, and he could get the Hwks in their offense this year much better than Teague could. Teague looked like a guy who was learning the position (which he was), and he struggled defensively some this year, even though that won't be a problem in the future. I think Teague be like Devin Harris in the future if he's developed right, which he seems to be. He was given the right steps to development by Coach Woodson. This training camp will tell alot about Teague's future as a PG of the future.
This is also Woodson saying this, and he may not be around next year...So who knows what will actually happen.
The only thing I don't like about Teague is that he has a slow release and basically shoots a set shot. He certainly has all the physical tools, though.
