Ahkasi ClayParticipantthe Jazz went into this off season looking to play the Young uns, Maybe get a good draft pick, and save as much money as possible for next years great free agent class. our biggest hurdle was to get players to Utah on one year contracts so we would not mess up our cap space. and get to the League minimum
Last Year the Orlando Magic agreed to a sign deal for Dwight Howard he got them 2 first round draft picks a couple of good young players that need some time, took on salary, and a couple of journeymen to make the deal work.
Yesterday My Jazz by proxy traded Iguodala and Kevin Murphy to the Warriors we got 3 expiring contracts (that get us up to the league minimum) and 2 first round draft picks and 2 2nd round Picks and it cost us a guy that was only going to make our team only because he was inexpensive.
the more I think about It the more amazed I am. we traded a player that was not on out team for exactly what we needed.
we give our youth experience
we “tank”
we have enough money for multiple free agents next year.thoughts?

CodySLCParticipantI like the trade for both teams. The Warriors get a really good wing player to help them have another strong playoff push. And the Jazz get 24mil in cap space to resign Hayward and Favors, and possibly go after another big name free agent.

TFCParticipantgreat move by Jazz.
I’m just not sure they’re going to tank so hard, Favors-Kanter might be more ready than expected and I can see Hayward having a breakthrough season. Utah most likely won’t make playoffs but don’t see them so high in the lottery.
Future looks bright for the Jazz nonetheless.
