CodySLCParticipantThe Jazz have signed Joe Johnson to a 2 year 22 million dollar deal. Considering what guys are getting paid this year it isn’t a bad deal. Another solid veteran pick up to go along with George Hill to mess with our young talent. I like the pick up.

Bankroll PJParticipantMaybe Joe Johnson just likes being an underdog, because I’m sure some other teams that are closer to contending were interested in his services. Nevertheless, good pickup for Utah, along with George Hill. Some veterans to help them with their playoff push. They’re a lock to make the playoffs next year, if healthy.

Reptilian MonkParticipantI really like this move for Utah, a veteran scoring presence who can create his own shot. They are trying to win now and this move helps them likely make it into he playoffs with their yougn core and now new veteran players.

Hype MachineI give the Jazz a ‘B+’ this offseason.
Veteran additions Hill and Johnson that adds depth and injury cover.
Hayward in a contract year.
Improvements from Hood and Gobert.
Exum returning. Joe Ingles ready to step up.
They’ll be very tough to score against.
On pace for 52 wins.
Jazz are back!

ghettosermonParticipantAlthough for the most part he’s gone through his career as quiet as a perrenial allstar can go, when Iso Joe finishes out this 2 year contract he will walk away from the game having made over 214 million dollars, made 7 all star teams, and finish near the top 5 in Career three pointers made. Not bad when you summarize his career. Too bad for him he didn’t sign with the Cavs mid season like most expected as he’d have a ring to go along.

HitsterParticipantNot the sort of move I thought Joe would make, I thought he may stay in Miami given their decent roster, nice climate, attractive tax laws or hop onto any number of contenders. I doubt he’s motivated by money but he’s got a nice deal so fair play to him but under the new salaries flying around even a 35 year old Joe is better value than a lot of unproven guys.
He’ll bring leadership and shooting to Quin Snyder’s young team. The deal is low risk for the Jazz as it is only two years and he could easily be brought out in year two if needed.
Joe has always been very durable and looked after himself and his shooting stats were as good as ever last season so he can give Utah good service especially as he’ll play a supporting role and probably a lighter workload.
He may well still have the option to hop on a contender for one last run at a title after his Utah challenge.
