Jazz fans dream
Okay, I'm so sick of the Lebron stuff... I had to put something else up. If you don't like it, I don't really care. There are plenty of places to talk about where lebron and Bosh are going. This is a draft website.
Given that the Jazz have only had one top 10 pick in the past 25 years (it's true, look it up, his name is Deron Williams), I'm pretty excited about what might (but probably won't) happen this offseason.
So, as a Jazz fan here's what I feel will be the perfect scenario for the next few months. If you're a Jazz fan and you have anything else that is half way realistic, please let me know (if you mention Lebron, I will not read any further)
First, of course, the Jazz will land the #1 pick in the lottery. The nets will get #4. Likely? No. Realistic? Yes.
Second, the Nets are completely infatuated with John Wall and willing to do what it takes to get him. Two or three teams start a bidding war for the #1 pick, and the Jazz finally accept New Jersey's offer. They offer the Jazz Brook Lopez and the #4 pick for the Jazz #1 pick and Mehmet Okur. Likely? No. Realistic? Yes.
Third, the Jazz draft Demarcus Cousins with the #4 pick, resign Wes Matthews, and say goodbye to Carlos Boozer.
That's it. I know most Jazz fans don't think Cousins would be a good fit, but I disagree. Sure, he goes a little crazy every now and then.... but that's exactly what the Jazz need... some crazy, some length, and toughness from their bigs.
Alright, any Jazz fans have any other dreams they hope come true.
im a jazz fan, and i dream we dont run into that darn laker team in the playoffs next year. They are so good, there is just nothing we can do against them
No way you get Lopez and the #4 for Wall. They understand how rare of a talent Lopez is, and they are going have him as a cornerstone of their franchise for a long time.
Question but are the Jazz fans hoping for the 1st or 2nd pick.
2nd pick they take Turner and 1st they take Wall I'm assuming.
That's as realistic as me boning kim kardashian tonight, sorry.
That's not my dream, although I would want them to package that pick. Dwill and Sloan need and want help NOW and there are only 1 or 2 players that could help them get past the Lakers. Assuming they just land the #9 pick, as they're expected to, I would like to see them trade the pick and Okur (with 2 yrs/$20 million left) or Kirilenko (with his $17.8 million expiring contract, the juiciest in basketball), for a legit center who plays defense and can stop Gasol and Bynum from destroying them. Unfortunately, just about every center in this league worth Okur and a top 10 pick is a franchise type player.
I would love Marc Gasol but I assume there's no way that's happening. If only Thabeet had proven something, because Gasol would be perfect, and the Grizzlies could use Okur's experience and Utah would be more than willing to give them their pick. I think the Jazz are content at this point (as far as drafting goes) with Matthews and Miles and handling the 2 and occasionally the 3, with the way they performed in the playoffs, with Matthews being a very good defender and Miles a promising young scorer still just 23, recognizing that they NEED a bigger frontline. Okur is a very mediocre defender and has no length and if they lose Boozer, they can't subsist in the playoffs with a frontline of Millsap (6-8, generously) and Okur (stubby 6-11).
I secretly am a HUGE fan of JaVale McGee. He's 7-0/250 with a terrific wingspan, still just 22, and averaged 1.7 blocks in 16.8 minutes. That's 3.8 blocks per 36 minutes or 5 per 48 minutes, however you want to interpret that. Seeing how the Jazz were more than fine offensively w/o Okur in the playoffs, I would be more than willing to give him to the Wizards (who are well under the cap) for a 7-footer like McGee who lives to play defense, and I'm sure Washington would like Okur as a 1 or 2 year rental. I'm not necessarily sure how that pertains to the draft, sorry. Maybe Okur and the #9 pick for McGee and the #5, I don't know, straight up sounds better to me.
At this point, quite honestly, I would be fine with Cole Aldrich. He is a terrific shot blocker (3.5 blocks in 27 mpg in the Big 12), and would fit nicely in the Jazz's system. Hopefully they can swing a trade, though.
That would be the best starting backcourt in the NBA.
The Nets are completely infatuated with Wall and will do whatever it takes to get him? Where are you getting that info. They would have to be idiots to trade Lopez (the second best young center in the league) in order to move up three picks.
They already have Devin Harris at PG, worst case lottery scenario for them they would still end up with the 4th pick which they could use to select Favors or Cousins and have the best young frontcourt in the league.
"That's as realistic as me boning kim kardashian tonight, sorry."
thats so unrealistic? shes biggest &$#%#&@! on earth... go watch her &$#%#&@! tape... its basically the same thing..
And then once the Jazz draft Cousins, Williams leaves the team as well as Coach Sloan. Crazy but not unrealistic. This guy is a mess case. You say a team needs craziness in order to be a champion but I totally disagree. You need craziness in order to create havoc in the locker room and bad team chemistry. Lopez with Williams would be great but one bad egg like Cousins can ruin a whole team. Look at Miami, they drafted Beasley in 08 and before him that team had won a championship, things were going excellent until Beasley came along. His attitude ruined everything. Now in Miami you have a team that struggles to get to the playoffs and then once they get there they choke. I realize that the finger cannot be pointed solely at Beasley but most of it is. I bet you anything that if the 2008 draft was redone, Riley would be drafting Mayo instead of Beasley. Besides, Jazz are a smart team, they know how huge attitude is and how much it could destroy this team. Just like it destroyed the Heat.
If the jazz get the first pick they would pick Turner not Wall. So the Nets do not need to trade with the Jazz for Wall but whoever has pick #2.
The jazz gotta get my favorite player, Matt Harpring out of retirement. Draft Cole Aldrich and stay healthy for the playoffs and the Jazz should be good to go next season.
Cole Aldrich? Hes something they definitly dont need. If Boozer leaves they need a PF/C like Monroe not a plain C, they already have Okur, Fesenko, and Koufos, how many more do they need?
Well if bangin Kim is realistic, tell me where I sign up for that azz
Realistically we wont have a pick higher that 9. If we did get at top 3 pick theirs no way Jerry Sloan will want to bring in a guy like cousins. We already have millsap, okur, kofus and fes. also ak will see minutes at the 4. Boozer is out but we have a undersized yet very good paul millsap who can put up 18 and 9 next year easy. We would take Evens first or Wes Johnson if we did move up, but we probably wont. We need to look into getting a young SF or C with good potential. I can see us drafting Aldrich and letting him develop off the bench next year. He would give us size and a shot blocker witch we desperately need. Okur is close to 30 injury prone and not a true center anyways. Al-Farouq Aminu would be a nice athletic player on the wing with d-will. And could replace ak (whos injury prove and almost 30 soon) after he falls off in a couple years. it will be a interesting pick that's for sure!
