I watched atleast 5 cal games this year and I came away less and less impress by them.  Everyone raves about brown’s athletic ability and high upside, but all I see is a player that is very stiff in his movements.  His ball handling, passing  and shooting skills needs a ton of work.   His basketball IQbis also very low right now.  I am not sure about how much he gets along with his teammates either.  I remembered on game where Rabb consistently gets great low post position and he wouldn’t feed the post.  After a couple times Rabb clearly got frustrated.

About Rabb, I like his attitude and motor but he does not have any lift and will struggle as a PF in pro.  I rather have Chriss and Murray instead.  Much smoother player with range and also more athletic.

Jaylen Brown reminds me of Ben McLemore alot because he has all the god given talent and athleticism but it seems like there’s not much natural feel. Either way he is just so athletic and has the perfect build. Very interesting prospect could go anywhere from 3 to 13 realistically.

I think Rabb is going to be fine. The guy just knows how to produce and is extremely coachable. He put away his whole perimeter game and face up game during his freshman campaign at Cal and was great. At the same time I do have doubts  about his weight and lack of explosiveness at the NBA level but I doubt its a major concern he is actually very quick off his feet and has that wiry strength and relentlessness that should let him compete at PF.

I like Chriss but I’m not sold on him as a lottery talent. Ive seen him play a bit this year and came accross super impressed with him offensively but on the other end he is a liability. He gets blocks but he is a terrible defender and defensive rebounder. He’s like a super athletic Patrick Patterson type prospect.

Jaylen Brown reminds me of a SF version of Julius Randle, but with more lift and a better touch inside the key.

Ivan Rabb seems like he will top out as an excellent 3rd big like Ed Davis, capable of switching and rebounding but stuck as a center who can’t quite defend the rim. Jaylen Brown’s jump shot and shot selection are highly questionable, many compared him to Stanley Johnson while he was in high school and I like Johnson more at this point. Brown likely tops out as a Wilson Chandler-style wing who tops out as a league average shooter and number 3 scorer on a borderline playoff team.

Jaylen Brown played a lot like Lance Stephenson this year. Often resorted to bully ball and was often out of control. I didn’t like Cal coming into the year because I didn’t think their pieces fit well. Brown was a victim of the lineup because he was rarely used as a small ball four. This made his lack of shooting more detrimental when he was playing with Rabb and Okoroh/Rooks.

Pretty much agree completely with Canada on this one.

Brown is a bigger more drive-game version of McLemore. Doesn’t have a good jumper, though that could come along, and he doens’t seem to have a great feel for the game, but he’s strong and athletic. Feel like he might not have a huge upside in terms of ever being a go-to scorer, but he’ll be a guy who sticks around for a long time.

I like Rabb a lot. Feel like he’s got a good upside, while also having a floor of someone who will at least be a solid rotational big off the bench. Most 19 year olds need to put on weight. If there’s more to his juper, he could be a really good pro.
