Not sure if people are paying attention but he is the best defensive wing in the league in his 2nd year. Check the metrics if you want. Eye test too.

Jaylen Brown is one of the most underrated players in the league. Weakness has been at the line and he has been improving steadily as of late. He been near 40 percent from 3 most of this season and is a big time reason the Celtics are 2nd in rebounding. In poor shooting game I watched him defend like crazy score 10 and grab 11.

    Thoughts on Jaylen Brown?

Man what an athlete this guy. Was a big fan of him coming out of college. The first game of the season he went off, right there and then i knew he would be a problem starting this year.

He looks much more comfortable with the ball in his than last year. In college, although he was reckless at times, he fell like he could drive the ball on anyone….. Well he’s got that feeling going on in the nba.

     Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown?

Gotta say that Ainge has drafted very well with Brown and Tatum.  When Brown was taken, I admittedly thought at the time he was a few picks too high, and Ainge had stretched for him though I’m not sure now who in hindsight he would’ve taken if it wasn’t Brown (just not a great overall draft class to date)?  I love Brown as a player: smart, tough, committed, with all the tools.  This kid is definitely going places in the league and in life.

Jaylen Brown is proving to be the sort of player a team hopes a top 3 drafted player will become if they aren’t quite franchise changing level. Jaylen went to a competing team which may have meant he was brought along more slowly than if he’d been on a legit lottery team. But he went to a team with a current winning ethos, he wasn’t expected to be a focal point from day one. He was surrounded by quality players who could help him along too.

With Crowder being traded and especially Hayward’s injury whilst he may have started regardless he has certainly had to play a bigger role than expected and take on a more senior position which he has done.

Last year’s draft after Simmons and Ingram was always debateable but of the rest, there was a lot of thought that Brown might just be next best and Bender was always going longer term and the Celtics didn’t need another guard then either.

Heading into his one year at Cal Jaylan Brown was one of the highest rated prospects in the Country

He was awful at Cal but his athleticism was Always there – he just seemed uninterested & that can be due to a numbe of factors that have Nothing to do w/ the kid’s ability but his Draft stock fell

I wish More GM’s would look past the one year in college b/c a Lot of these One & Done kids do Not want to even be in college so that will Greatly effect your on court intensity

You can say well if they want to be Pro’s they should take it seriously & that sounds great but it isn;t reality

How much do you focus on something you Know is comepletely unneccessary? Prob the same as me which is almost None.

Brown is an absolute Stud – I Luv his Intensity at Both ends – he is a perfect Celtics player

It’s not like his draft stock fell that much anyway. Simmons is clearly better than him and its still a toss up between him and Ingram. Brown might be doing slightly better than Ingram now but Ingram is a year younger and 2 inches taller. I still would take Ingram over him.

agreed. I think if Boston had a higher pick,  ainge would’ve taken Simmonds or Ingram ahead of brown. But either way all three teams ended up with potential all stars
