apperently raptors are interested in getting jan with the 5th — over jonas

    Source (Chad Ford) – http://bleacherreport.com/articles/711518-nba-rumors-latest-roundup-of-nba-trade-rumors-draft-rumors/entry/86794-nba-rumors-jan-vesely-heading-for-top-5-pick

I was thinking that if raptors pick him, he is going to play SF but can he actually play small forward…he is 6-11,, i dont know much about him but other players that nbadraft.net have said can SF has never played small forward exmaple –

    http://www.nbadraft.net/players/andrea-bargnani

i dont think theres a 6-11 small forward in the league right now (closest would be durant 6-10)

so do you guys think he can be a legit 3 in the league (if u have watched him play/ from his highlights)?

And apprently the raptors are interested in Rudy Gay – http://www.torontosun.com/2011/05/24/raptors-keep-eye-on-rudy-gay

What would be fair trade for Rudy?— he would be a nice fit with the raptors

Donte Green is 6’11 for the kings but I thing Vesely is too thin to play the power forward position. I think he’s more capable of playing small forward or hybrid forward. nicholas tskitishvili was 7 feet and played small forward, so I think Vesely could be a legit 3. Although I do think he will suck, no matter who drafts him.

As he should be.  This dude is a SF who can play PF sparingly.  His game is built for the SF position and would thrive there as opposed to playing on the block as a PF.

He is the most exciting prospect in the draft IMO.  And I know people probably sick of hearing me speak praises of his game but he is the best running/body control/jumping big man I’ve EVER seen.  Its unreal.

He plays D, has a decent outside shot, incredible length/height, and plays with intensity and aggression.  If he translates to the NBA game, dude’s gonna be a problem.  Can’t wait to see how he performs in the league.

Austin Daye registers 6’11”, and he often plays the 3.  I don’t know much about Vesely, but its possible for someone of that height to be able to play 3.  They just need to be athletic enough to guard smaller and quicker r 3’s.  The lack in lateral quickness is usually made up for in length for taller skinnier 3’s.  I could definitely see Raptors going in that direction.

AK plays the 3 and he is about the same size and he can play 4

Vesley doesn’t have enough bulk to play PF. I think it would be a fair trade but if I was the Grizzles I’d turn it down. They have a potenial ALl-Star in Rudy Gay so why trade him for a untested, unorthodox Europeon.

That said I do have Vesley at 5th overall, I just don’t think the Griz would say even if some legit players are thrown in.

    source – http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2011/01/jan-vesely-i-will-enter-the-nba-draft/

SLAM: What position do you see yourself in the NBA: small forward or power forward?

    JV: Power forward.

I like his athleticism for his size but he lacks a jumpshot. He would be a huge liability offensively on the perimeter. I would guess Toronto would need a SF to help stretch the floor.

I think Brandon Knight will be avaliable and they will select him.

His jumper is not that much of a liability from the outside.  He is capable of knocking down open shots.

His position will be SF with the flexibility to play some spot up minutes as a PF if he’s not facing a low post banger. Also his shot is decent, but it doesn’t have to be great. No one is drafting him to be their #1 offensive option. People are drafting him for his defense, athleticism, ability to run the floor, attack the offensive glass, and overall motor.
