I’d like to know how this guy tested on the pre-draft combine, because he is right up there with Vince Carter as far as athleticism. I know it doesn’t matter now since he has no NBA future but man what an amazing athlete.

Yea… It really doesn’t matter. Bird took a chance on him in the draft and he couldn’t even get through training camp.

The worst team in the NBA should have a reality show where James White and Gerald Green have a dunk off for their last roster spot.

Always have to wonder why he did not make it with his ridiculously elite athleticism, and his college numbers indicate he was not a Kenny Gregory type shooter. I am guessing the guy has a 40 inch or so vert, and he was a top HS prospect, and got robbed in a dunk contest versus David Lee at McDonalds. Actually, I have yet to see him really win dunk contests, as he always tries to go to big, but on the other hand he usually has the overall best dunks by far. I have yet to see a guy actually dunk from as far, and do aerial maneuvers while doing it, like James White. Say what you want to say about free throw line dunks, no one in the NBA has ever done it from BEHIND the line, and I think White can. With all of that being said, if he were to be an NBA player, he might need to add weight to his frame which would seriously effect his ability to do what he does as far as dunking. Have you ever seen Kadour Zani? Well, he does not lift weights, only stretching, plyometric and agility training. I have yet to see a person that can jump as high as him. Yet, that being said, he ONLY dunks. He does not play basketball, because any injury involved could effect his ability to dunk, what he does for a living. My guess, is that he really was a tweener, to skinny to guard 3’s, not quick enough to guard 2’s. He can jump and all, but who knows if he had the top notch speed to match his vertical? He seems way to skinny to have the strength to mix it up the way star players who are shorter and can not jump as high, seem to do on a regular basis.

What can he do other than finish on the fast break or catch a lob from someone? The guy just never developed in terms of skill.

James White was a highly touted player coming out of high school mainly because of his extraordinary athleticism, but I thought he developed an all-around game by his SR year at Cincinnati. I give him credit for staying in school and developing through his SR year, most guys like him stupidly come out early because of their high school hype. Maybe it’s his slight frame that kept him from sticking in the NBA.

Is it crazy to say that it looked effortless to him on Bryant24’s video?
