Last year the world held its breath waiting to see if Harden had it in him to break the NBA record in turnovers, and it was amazing to see him clinch the title of The King of Turnovers in his final game of the season. It was a close one, but he managed to squeak by Artis Gilmore upping the previous record by 6 turnovers.

This was not the end of Harden’s amazing turnover crusade, he was to climb the great McGinnis ladder of turnovers! Many years ago George McGinnis wanted to make sure nobody would ever beat him so he made not one, not two, but three all-time records in a row (technically, he did not set a record in 1974 because he had fewer turnovers than the year before that, but it sounded better the way I wrote it).

Right now The Bearded One stands before the first step of the McGinnis ladder: he is 11 turnovers away from crossing it, after which he will need another eight. The final push will be the hardest, as the season nears its end, Harden will need to will himself into committing 21 more ball losses!

With 16 games to go, Harden is 40 turnovers away from the great goal. If he keeps his current pace up, this will be no problem at all, but you can never be sure! What do you guys think? Can he do it? Can he go down as the greatest turnover king of basketball to ever live?
