Anton123ParticipantSo, I like records. One of the things I’ve been keeping my eye on and tracking carefully since the all-star break has been James Harden’s turnovers.
Today is a truly historical day: he has just broken the NBA record. Coming into the game Harden was tied for the record with Artis Gilmore at 366 turnovers and needed just one more to be a an all-time turnover great. Well, with some time left in the half he has already made 2 turnovers and becomes the NBA single-season record holder!
I don’t know why I am this excited about this fact. However, Houston still has 2 more games after the Lakers game, how far can James Harden rise?
The all-time ABA/NBA record seems out of reach at 422 (held by a turnover great George McGinnis), however, Harden still has a chance to catch Billy Cunningham if he can commit 15 turnovers in 3 games (I doubt he will, but one can dream).
I think this is a great day for anyone who loves turnovers and dislikes the Rockets and overly-bearded men. Hooray!

ZachAttackParticipantto break McGinnis record he’d have to get at least 18 turnovers a game… All things are possible.

What’s the all-time career record?

Snatalini247ParticipantI don’t understand how one player can be so good yet so bad. Some times he looks like one of the best in the NBA and sometimes one of the worst. Constantly turning the ball over and playing matador defense. 25.1 PER with 4.6 turnovers a game? It’s weird to think thats even possible…
