James Borrego New HC for Charlotte

Did a bit of research on the guy. He's the 1st hispanic NBA Head Coach. Awesome. Former offensive coach for the Spurs, add him to the long list of coaches to come out of Spurs system.

He's gone on record that his job is to win games with the tools he has been provided and has also said the only certain thing about the Hornets lineup is that Walker will start. Doesnt seem like he is going to be catering to Monk/Bridges unless they earn the minutes.

This Hornets team has a ton of talent it just hasnt gelled for whatever reason. It should be interesting to see what this guy can do with the talent, they seem rejuvenated.

A “ton of talent?”

If by “ton” you mean four fat girls stuffed in an elevator kinda ton, then, sure. I guess.

In that sense, yes it’s going to get ugly and it’s going to stink and sink.

Right of the bat he made a good impression on me when he chose to start Lamb over MKG. Clifford is stubborn af in that he doesn't see that the gap between Lamb's defense and MKG's defense isn't that big compared to their offensive games. MKG does not deserve to start in this league with that shooting.

It’s hard to believe how bad

It’s hard to believe how bad that decision to take MKG 2nd in 2012 looks in retrospect right now (even though it seemed like a solid pick at the time), when you consider that they could’ve had a walker-beal backcourt to build around. Just one of a handful of questionable decisions this franchise has made that didn’t pan out.

Gotta say

Bridges has looked quite good this preseason. He's more athletic than I though he'd be. I'm really interested to see his development and if Borrego gives him 20 minutes per game. I also second the decision to start Lamb over MKG

I just don't see a ton of

I just don't see a ton of talent. I don't even really see a lot of talent. I see one borderline all-star. A guy in Batum who could be a key role player on a championshup contender. And a bunch of mediocre guys who aren't difference makers. Many of their guys have been in the league five, six or seven years and at this point, they kinda are who they are.

- MKG is about to start his seventh year in the league and still hasn't made a 3.

- Biyombo has been in the league seven years and can't score anything other than a dunk.

- Frank Kamisky is so soft he makes Channing Frye look like a Navy Seal. He would prefer not to rebound. Ever. How can you be 7 feet tall and average 3 rebounds per game?

- Tony Parker has 49 year old legs.

- Cody Zeller is in his sxith year and is still pretty average.

- Marvin Williams has been in the league 13 years and is about as big a difference maker as an afternoon nap.

- Lamb has some ability, but is about to start his seven year in the league and started 18 games last year. If you can't carve out a starting spot on Charlotte, how good are you really?

I could go on, but at this point, I've lost interest in the Hornets. They're a boring, uninteresting team that has been drafting so poorly for so long that it's hard to remember the last time they atually got something right.

As much as it may suck I

As much as it may suck I think they need to give lots of timtime to Monk & Bridges as well as get as much young talent/picks in a trade for Kemba Walker.

I'm not using Walker as a salary dump, it's to get the future rolling in Charlotte. If Monk & Bridges become really good players, by ththe time they due to be paid the others will be off the books.

Bridges is already a very

Bridges is already a very good player. He was already one of the most impressive freshmans of 2016-2017 on par if not better than Jackson, Tatum, Isaac and others from that class. Then he stayed back for his sophmore year playin under Izzo. The guys gonna be an absolute monster and for some reason people are gonna be shocked.
