I know Jabari Parker is great now, but I believe he can be much better than he already are. It’s not nothing that he needs to work on that I believe that would make him better, but his situation. Believe Giannis and Jason Kidd are setting him back. Not saying that Jason Kidd is a terrible coach, but he limiting Jabari Parker ability and overusing Giannis. This is not saying Giannis is overrated, but I believe he is overused. People love to point to his stats and say that he leads the Bucks in all their categories. In my opinion he leads them in all those categories based on the offense that Jason Kidd runs and his usage rate. Jason Kidd turned Jabari Parker into a spot-up shooter and just a cutter. Here’s what I believe the Bucks should do with Jabari Parker.

We seen what Jabari Parker did when Giannis missed a game due to an illness/injury, he went for 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assist. I believe Jabari Parker should get the ball in more areas than he already is. I believe the Bucks should have him in the post-up area, high post area, and at the top of the key using the PnR. He’s one of the biggest mismatch problems in the league and he only ask to stay in the corner for most of the shot clock and let Giannis do his thing. Jabari Parker can abuse PF in the PnR game and at the high post given his speed and athleticism. If they switch on the PnR with a guard or wing, he can back them up in the post. He’s a problem on the offensive end and Jason Kidd lack of imagination and his love affair to put Giannis in the best situation is hurting Jabari’s progress as a player and the Bucks team as a whole.

There some things that Jabari Parker needs to improve to reach his potential and help the Bucks be better as a team. The thing that he does need to work on is his defensive rebounding, improving in that would vastly help the Bucks defense and help get to the offense early on. The Bucks allow to many second chance buckets and the biggest problem is Jabari Parker’s lack of awareness on the defensive glass that allow so many second chance buckets. Jabari is too athletic and physical gifted to not average 9-10 rebounds a game.

I believe he can be a perennial all-star and I believe Jason Kidd underwhelming offense is the case that he’s not much better as of right now as he could be.

Jason Kidd has decided to make Giannis his main ball carrier and Giannis is still learning the role. I agree that Jabari does need to be in the post up area more. But I also think that Jabari is developing very nicely especially as he missed the bulk of his rookie year and took time to get back up to speed last season. He’s putting up 20ppg this year so has reached a good milestone to improve on.

I can recall when the Bucks were 17-65 aprox in 2013-14 but people were already talking about the Greek Freak and the excitement of seeing him and Jabari in tandem. I said that I felt Jabari would need to reach hisa potential if the Bucks were to be successful again, I saw him as the key factor with Giannis as the intangibles top running mate.

Since then Giannis has been on a roll and especially with Jabari being out in his rookie year, it has become Giannis’ team. Also there has always been a lot of love for Giannis on here so when he has those stat filled games, we tend to raise the roof for him.

Jabari is still an elite prospect and I think that taking advantage of his explosiveness more would help the Bucks to be more successful and not take anything away from Giannis.

Jabari is still averaging over 20 points, but he could also be much better than he already is. This not knocking Giannis, but knocking Jason Kidd for making Giannis the main focal point of the offense and making Jabari role as a primary spot up shooter and rim runner. Giannis is special, but at the same time he’s putting up huge numbers because he is the only player Jason Kidd runs his offense through. This team is a top 6 team right now and they are underperforming because of how they use Giannis, IMO. I watched there second to last game against the Houston Rockets. While he got his points, rebounds, and assist, the whole team was stagnant and nobody else can get into any grove. People may claim that the other players played like trash, but take a look at the other perspective. They may be playing bad because the main guy have the ball for 20 seconds of the shot clock. The offense would be more great and by that the team would be better. That is not saying Giannis is at fault, but his stats are a product of Jason Kidd lack of creativity and only having him as the only offensive weapon that he use.

Idk if Giannis is holding him back or not, but Bari needs to keep hooping because he is that good. Kidd will find a way to make them all work together

I agree, but we see this kind of thing all the time when you have two alphas on the same team. See Westbrook and Durant.

If I was Kidd and his coaching staff I would watch every Miami Heat game from 2011-13 and try to mimic what they did on offense. While Parker/Giannis aren’t the same level of players as LeBron and Wade, I think they could work similarily on offense with great pick n rolls, and post ups. LeBron was a monster that year because he finally got his ass in the paint and stopped shooting unnecessary jumpers. Parker and Giannis need to do the same.

The thing was Scott Brooks put them both in situations to succeed, they both got the ball in spots they could succeed. And when they even had Harden, he got his spots to be successful. I believe the Bucks could be a better team and should be at the 6 seed as of right now. They lost tons of games thanks to Jason Kidd inability to manage an offense and only putting one player in position to succeed. It shouldn’t be hard to have Jabari Parker as a PnR handler, get the ball at the high post, and get more post ups. He’s literally one of the top players, according to his effeciency, at post ups, as a PnR handler, and getting the ball in the high post. Why limit your best scorer to only a spot up corner shooter and a rim runner when he can be much more. It shouldn’t be hard to have him with the ball and not only rely on Giannis going off.

if a team played Jabari in the same role offensively that Melo has always played then he would blow up and perform much better. Even if he doesn’t get Melo like shots/touches, if he gets them in that same wing/high post area he will be great.

Jabari has proven time and time again that he is a willing passer and a very good passer. Just let him create and someone on the Bucks will get a good shot.

I think Kidd could see the game better from on the court because he isn’t impressing me much from the sideline. He has one of the top 15 players in the league in Giannis and another one of the top 35 in Jabari but is outside the playoff hunt and trending downward.

Not having Middleton has really hurt this team but he is eyeing a return so maybe they can turn it around the 2nd half of the season because if not Jason Kidd could be looking for another job.

Jabari and Giannis can thrive on the same team, Jabari has never been considered a major ball handler as far as I know so giving Giannis the point role is a logical move. Plus it means they are both not looking for touches with someone else as the creator.

I’m sure that Jabari will get a great extension offer in the summer too.

With Giannis putting up such great numbers, he perhaps have overlooked Jabari a bit. But that is almost perfect for him, he can go about his business quietly and not have all the pressure on him, he has done this and put up 20ppg without a lot of people noticing.

I can still see him having the upside to become a peak 25ppg player.

Why limit Jabari Parker by just have him as a rim runner and corner 3 point specialist when Jabari is literally great in the low post, high post, and as a PnR handler. Never said one should go and the other should stay. I basically said that Jason Kidd is a bad offensive coach that only set up Giannis to succeed. Jabari Parker has an exceptional handle to his size and could run a team for time to time. This is not about him taking the ball handling duties away from Giannis, but to get Jabari more on the block to post up, get him on the high post, and get him more PnR chances as a ball handler. That’s not taking anything away from Giannis. Jabari Parker post incredible numbers at those three facets and the Bucks offense tend to get stagnant over a while. And what’s good for him when the team is not winning primarily because the offense is straight trash and he’s not being set up to succeed. He could easily average over 25 now if Jason Kidd stop acting like he’s JR Smith.

As of January 3rd, Jabari ranked in the 88th percentile as a PnR handler, which is phenomenal for a 6’9"-6’10" power foward and he ranks in the 63nd percentile in post ups, which is phenomenal for a primary perimeter player. But, the thing is that he only use as a PnR handler 6.9% of his touches and be on the block for post up on only 6% of his touches. They would win more and their offense would be much better if they utilize Jabari Parker where he excels at and just put him in the corner and let Giannis do work. And at the high post, Jabari Parker shoots 39% from that area, that’s pretty good.

This post is not about getting rid of either Giannis or Jabari, but the Bucks would be a better team if they utilize Jabari Parker the right way and not minimize his role as a cutter and spot-up shooter. The Bucks are below .500, so it’s not like what they are doing working and beasting on the east. Give Jabari his touches and let him shine. There can be more than one star on one team and he’s in the NBA, being in the shadow is never a good look.

Wiggins is already a top 10 scorer in the league and still we get these Parker is better theorists.

They are both still early  in thier careers but Wiggins has already exceeded most scouts expectations as a scorer despite not being as stellar defensively as hoped. That is something that he can and should master under thibs.

Parker is still caught between positions because he does not have the speed to play the 3 despite having the elite skillset, and he does not have the skillset to be an allstar level pf ,and despite having some what of a breakout season his rebounding and defensive efficiency are still less than the Bucks had hoped he wopuld give them when they drafted him at 2.

I really like what I have seen from Parker thius year and i hope i am wrong for his sake and all of his followers don’t get me wrong .

he is a starter after this year on most nba rosters… but until he proves to be better on the boards and defensively at the 4 I do not anticipate him ever being an mvp candidate or a perenial allstar because he just does’nt have the ability to maximize his skillset offensively at the 3 without giving up too much.

Dude, Jabari is better than Wiggins, it’s not even a discussion anymore. Only people saying Wiggins > Parker are Kansas fans, TWolves fans, and Wiggins family. He’s not better, just because he’s an ineffecient scorer, poor rebounder, poor passer, and a bad defender, does not mean he’s better than Parker. That just saying he’s Rudy Gay. He’s underwhelming this early in his career and if there was a redraft in that draft he wouldn’t even be the first TWolve player to get drafted, LaVine is better.

It’s funny how you knocked Jabari defensive ability and rebounding ability, but numbers suggest Jabari is better than him at that. Wiggins been a disappointing player and didn’t live up to the ability that the TWolves traded for.

Dude literally in all star consideration this year, which Wiggins is not, and you on hear talking like this while Wiggins is Rudy Gay. LMAO.

The point you Parker homers keep missing is this:

Parker is having a better season going by stats.

Wiggins is still the more explosive athlete and still has more ceiling to reach.

Parker looks to be as good as he will ever be defensively, regardless of useage.

My point there again is Parker is never going to be elite at the 4 on the defensive end.

Put Wiggins at te 2 and his stats would be superior to what they are.

Wiggins crushed the Bucks on Dec 30th 31pts 5reb & 6 dimes ( 0-3 from downtown =no 3 pointer to get that total) facing off against the greek freak

        Parker had 20 5 & 6 facing off against Deng / Towns

props to Parker for a stellar season so far he is playing better than Wiggins is on a consitant basis

but that does not equate to being the longterm alpha of the two players.

Dude, it’s not being a Jabari Parker homer, by mostly every metric Jabari Parker has been better. You can’t just say "I know Wiggins would be better in the future because he’s more athletic" when Jabari Parker is athletic as well and that Wiggins is not good because of his motor, aggressiveness, and his lack of focus.

Parker is having the better season by going off everything, including eye test. He’s being considered as an All Star reserve this season, Wiggins is not.

You cannot us "he have more athleticism, he would be better", we seen already and we seen numerous players not reach their potential even if they have the athleticism advantage. And don’t knock Jabari athleticism. You sound like a Wiggins homer. You making a strawman’s argument based off of nothing.

He wasn’t even good at the 2 wouldn’t change how inderwhelming he has played in his career, even he already played the 2 before.

LOL. At you using one matchup to try to justify one being better than the other. If you wanted to go that route then Jahlil Okafor is better than KAT because he outplayed when they went against each other.

            I don’t get your ignorance

See you in a couple seasons.

FYI just because Parker has a strong work ethic (because he needs it) doesn’t make him the better basketball player going forward.

You are obviously convinced Parker is a stud. I am not sold on him ever being an MVP candidate.

With more Reason to go full on Wiggins always shows up and looks like That Man…

              1.) Hate Duke

              2.) Clearly a Heat fan

3.) Nothing said is ingnorant. Just because have different opinions on players doesn’t make one opinion ignorant, it would only get ignorant is if someone mention someone’s else personally.

4.) Never said anything about work ethic, just said he’s a better player right now. He post better numbers and been better this season and the second half of last season. So, Wiggins don’t need a strong work ethic, LMAO.

5.) Being better than Wiggins does not require being an MVP candidate, John Wall is not a serious MVP candidate and he’s an outsanding NBA player. So is Kytie Irving, Dame Lillard, Klay Thompson, and others.

Pay closer attn to what you are seeing.

You of all people with a picture of Whiteside should realize that potential is not always realized in the first couple of seasons.

My final point is this: Wiggins is still the better prospect going forward regardless of what Parker or anyone else in the league has achieved in comparison to him , if what has been done is all you are going to use as a measuring stick than I would think if you were seeing it clearly all Parker has done is exactly what they expected him to do, except at the wrong position, transition into the league and become a 20/10 club member not an allstar.

Wiggins was traded for because they were going to Lose Love for nothing and it was the best offer they had. I guarantee Cleveland drafted him with the expectation that he would be a solid lock down defender with enormous upside enough so that if his skill level ever caught up with his athletism would be a perenial allstar. His offensive skillset has improved a lot since College despite his defense not being as expected. on a good team where he is not forced to succeed as an iso player he puts up better numbers right now and he still is not even close to max’n out.

Parker is as good as I thought he would be , I have never thought he would be a poor player or anything close to that , what I see is a man who esp post injury is never going to be able to maximize his current offensive skillset because he CAN’T defend the 3 which is where he should be playing, because he cannot defend the 4 either, He will improve over time at the 4 because that is where he is being utilized because he is so good offensively against avg defenders that are as a rule slower just like he is. Put him up against faster longer pf and his game is depleted immediately.

I guess the argument between the two players is moot at this point as they don’t play the same position.

the point about Wiggins at the 2 is he would be a match up nightmare just like parker would be if he could play the 3.

Wiggins should be playing the 2 but he is needed at the 3 on that roster and Lavine is a better shooter so it just makes sense to have him there instead.

FYI the mvp discussion is a slight possibility still for Wiggins IF he ever maximizes his potential, for Parker on the other hand it is not even a possibility.

sorry for thinking you were a Duke fan I guess we can can be friends afterall

LOL. I’m getting negged because I said Jabari Parker deserve more touches at the spots where he thrive at, that there offense would be better when if he gets those touches, Jason Kidd is limiting him, and Kidd is a trash offensive coach. I prove everything with fact, but people still neg. LOL

Remember Middleton is ptobbaly returning in the next month or so. He’s not shy about taking shots so should be interesting if he takes away from Parker and Giannis. They’re not ready to contend yet and they’re all young so they have to time to work things out and gel or front office might see it best to part ways with Middleton if it doesn’t work.

Luckily Jabari’s jump shot is looking really good this year, that would have been the number one thing preventing Giannis and Jabari from being a good match.

This is the most important thing said in this thread. Bari is on a rookie contract. They can match any offer once he goes to free agency. Middleton was signed to a 5-yr 70-mil contract summer 15. They cant have both Middleton and Parker developing as triple threat offensive players while playing next to Greak Freak it just doesnt mesh.

Kidd has impressed me as a coach. He is very unorthadox and does not conform to todays trends. He decided from day 1 Greak Freak is his main priority while others basically act as supporting pieces to his development despite investing so much money in Middleton, Monroe and such a high pick in Parker.

As Parker develops I expect them to have a nightmareish 1a 1b iso offense that will be very potent. Im actually glad he is doing nore rim running and spotting up as apposed to being an out of shape contested jump shot taking effeciency headache.
