cuseflynn10ParticipantJonny Flynn has gotten off to a slow start in the NBA. First he had a promising year in his rookie season, followed by hip surgery and a trade. With Lowry and Dragic both taking a lot of the point guard minutes in Houston, I think its best for Houston to trade him now. He’s 22 and still has value. If they keep him as a 3rd string PG he’ll never get a true chance to prove himself, and he’ll lost trade value as he ages. I was thinking he could get a slightly bigger role, but still develop for the Lakers, Raptors, Suns, or maybe the Hornets.
He has two years left on his current deal and at the pace of playing time he’s getting I expect his value to be higher now, rather than next year in his final year of the contract. Plus I just don’t see him resigning as long as Lowry and Dragic are doing good in Houston. It’s a win-win for a Flynn trade. Rockets get value for him now instead of nothing later, and Flynn can grow into his potential in a new city (hopefully somewhere where he can get minutes, not a PG jammed team).

lisergxParticipantMe being a true die-hard Syracuse orange fan, know how important Jonny Flynn was for us , he basically carried that team as far as it went, it saddens me to see where he has ended up in regards to his NBA career.

sheltwon3ParticipantLakers have Morris as their young point so if they do make a trade it will be for a point guard who can defend which Flynn is not really good at.
There are some teams that could use him though.

omphalosParticipantOrlando could be a nice landing place for Flynn, they’ve got Nelson and that’s about it. They’ve shown they don’t mind playing undersized PGs and Nelson would be playing his way out of a starting job if he had someone capable to take it from him.
Also, Calderon is ageing, and it might be time to finally give up on Bayless as a PG, he seems better suited as a scorer off the bench, so Flynn might end up there, as it seems they will need to take a SG/SF to aid DeRozan, and there are no PGs who are necessarily better than Flynn early in this draft regardless.
