Glad to see him getting some burn and I have to say I’ve been very impressed by what I’ve seen so far. He has great hands and a great feel for the game. He is not the most athletic guy but he has a variety of shots around the rim and looks comfortable catching the ball of the pick and roll and making plays in traffic (which is not an easy skill to master).

He made a couple of interior passes in the first half tonight against Utah that caught my eye. Not something you’d typically see from a 19 year old center. His game actually reminds me a little of a young Marc gasol. The Lakers might have gotten a steal.

he played quite a bit better then even brandon ingram in the nba summer league. Hes defenitely a steal and it looks like walton is starting to give him some playing time. After not playing much all season, he has gotten 20+ minutes three times recently and has put up a double double all 3 of those games averaging 13ppg…11rpg…2 blcks in 27mpg

If he can put on some muscle and continue to develop his skills, he should be the starting center for the Lakers in 2-3 years time.

I think he’ll actually leapfrog Mozgov in the rotation as early as next season, or even this because after the all-star break they probably won’t fight for anything but a high draft pick and in that case the starters will definitely get some rest whereas the young guns (Zu, Ingram, Russell) will get more burn.

While I very much like him, this seems like the wrong squad for him. The Lakers are loaded with shoot-first players. He is instant offense and could become offensively elite. He can hit from anywhere within 20 feet and is automatic. He also gets hits shot off real quickly. He can hang with Gobert and other strong guys, but no one quick. He definitely isn’t part of the positionless NBA: he couldn’t guard a PF to save his soul.

Maybe Zubac needs to get stronger, but he definitely needs to be more fierce.

There’s not enough ball to go around for Russell and Randle before you throw Ingram and Zubac into the equation. He also has so little quickness that he doesn’t even turn around in time to see the defender dunking on him. Someone needs to wake this dude up. He is still a presence inside. Not because of his athleticism, but he knows when to have his hands in the right place.

His Offense looks pretty good so far for a rookie,Reminds me of a young Marc Gasol…
