OllstarParticipantSan An is going to work hard to move up in the draft. The Sixers are rumored to have their pick and brand on the table in a package deal. RJ and Parker will be on the last year of their contracts next year and constantly come up in trade chatter. Parker might beworth more then the pick and a bad contract. RJ isnt worth the pick alone even with the collateral damge of Brand’s contract. So what else does San An have? well George Hill trade stock is probably still high even after he got played by the Suns, and their pick(20th overall) . Still I think a third team will need to be involved as 76ers wont necasarilly need a point and San An wont need a PF(see favors). The third team could be NJ whos 3rd pick is primed for Favors(who san an covets). Ya NJ cleared house and won’t want the horrible contract of a Brand, but if they strike out everywhere else Brand might compliment Lopez and he can teach him a thing or 2.
So,
nets recieve – E. Brand, George Hill, 2nd pick, 20th pick
San An recieves – 3rd pick, Jason Kapono
76ers Recieve – Richard Jefferson, Devin HarrisThis trade probably will need a few things to happen:
1. The nets must believe if they are to get Turner they need to move up
2. 76ers feel RJ and fellow Arizona product AI will work
3. 76ers feel Harris is the better route then handing it to Jrue Holiday
4. nets feel Brand still has something and dont mind the contract
5. nets might of hurt their relationship with harris because of all the trade talk that came up when they were the projected first
6. 76ers convince fans harris is better then TurnerOne thing is pretty clear, some trades are going down around draft day.

HotSnotParticipantThe trade you came up with makes alot of sense for all parties involved.
This type of trade has to come down to a GM’s particular style when building a team. Some are more patient then others. Some like to build through the draft and wait a few years before the ball gets rolling, POR and OKC. Some prefer established veterans like DAL. If the NJ GM really believes that Brand has something left and warrents the contract he will be playing for then I can see the nets pulling the trigger. If not, not a chance.
As you mentioned, there should be a remarkable amount of movement all over the draft this year.

OllstarParticipanttrading ur star point for picks in a weak pg draft might be scary, but turner and williams can make plays at the g/f spot.

sbealer22ParticipantDoug Collins in his opening interview specifically said he sees Iguodala as a SF. That makes me believe that Either A) they take Turner with the #2 Pick and use him at SG, B) They trade the #2 Pick for a 2 who can shoot C) they trade the #2 for the #4 and #16 if they believe James Anderson or Xavier Henry will be available with the 16th pick.
I would like for them to take Turner as a Sixers fan

OllstarParticipantPlay RJ off the bench then coach, it will help him by letting him be a primary option for the second unit. Throw Williams in there and Harris can guard the 2.

apb540ParticipantI do not want Harris becuz Holliday is our PG for the future. I would rather do 2 for 4 and 16 than just dump 2 and EB for a player we don’t even need.
Disclaimer: I would love to rid of EB’s contract thou…0 - Posted on: Tue, 05/25/2010 - 1:59pm #320839
OllstarParticipantAny team needs Harris I don’t care if you have great players. He can be your 6th man with his contract and you won’t feel bad. But Jrue and Harris in the back court might work.

OllstarParticipantThe winners… Philly gets rid of Brand’s contract, NJ gets Turner, San An gets Favors and 7 million.

Charlie SheenParticipantNo way this happens. why would Philly pass on this chance to build a young dynamic team. Holiday Young and Speights are a good 3 add Turner or Cousins that gives you a soild 4 then Igoudala is trade bait for either a guard if you pick Cousins or a big if you pick Turner then you have a solid young 5 and then wait a couples years and continue to build through the draft. then Philly becomes the Portland or OKC of the East

midwestbbscoutParticipantif the sixers trade this pick they are going to regret it…..elton brand and his contract might seem like the end of the world but getting rid of it at the expense of your future is dumber than billy packer analysis…..
as far as im concerned if the nets and philly dont come out of draft day without wall cousins or turner they immediately become topps on the list for worst draft….and the sad thing is that it very well could happen to both of them…..
