Is it possibe for Gilbert Arenas to join the Celtics
They can have him if they want him. Unfortunately for Gil, no teams want him. When teams say they want a vet PG to come off the bench, what they really mean is a PG who can provide some stability to the offense off the bench. Guys with leadership and distribution skills who can take care of the ball fit the bill. That doesn't describe Gil.
I always thought this would happen to Arenas. Before his injuries and suspension, he was a guy who knew how to get his, taking a ton of shots, quite a few of em bad, just to find his rhythm. He also used his athleticism to get to the rim. Off the bench he's just a low bball IQ, low efficiency shooter with below average distribution skills who can't get to the bucket anymore.
IMO, he should follow McGrady and go to China.
In reallity, they would not need that much out of the backup guy here. Rondo is going to do the heavy lifting, and Bradly is capable of filling in a little as long as there is another ball handler on the floor (Pierce / Terry / Lee etc.)
Fisher would fit pretty well, but would need help on the defensive end - which could be provided by almost anyone else on the team. If Ray Ray can go to the Heat, Fisher could go to the Celts.
My interest in Arenas would be for his defensive ability. Since all the injuries, can he get some of what he had back on the defensive end when placed in the Celtics system? If he can he is worth considderation.
In the end Fisher just has the Finals credentials I would lean toward. Remember Sam Cassell? PJ Brow? We don't need a guy to make an impact every single night, but a guy who can step up at the exact right time.
Arenas wasn't even a good defender when he had his athleticism. I don't expect that to change now that he's lost it.
Gilbert should go spend a season overseas to shake off some of the rust off and get his timing back..He's only 30,and might be able to can offer a team 10 to 12 points off the bench..Next year once to gets accustomed to playing competitively again....
They tried Marbury a few years ago, as well as Cassell, and they both didn't go well. I think they've learned their lesson on signing point guards well past their prime.
If Bradley can run the point effectively in Rondo's absence, and also with Terry and PP being capeable ball carriers, I would guess the Celtics would perhaps only look for a back up veteran PG if Rondo was out for any length of time and back up to the above was needed.
Even then Agent Zero would not seem a logical choice as a ball handing PG.

It's possible because the released Dionte Christmas and Jamar Smith because they wanted a veteran point guard. I mean if they signed Darko Milic, Gilbert Arenas can't be worse.
Of course they could go after Mike Bibby,Derek Fisher, or Earl Boykins.
