It might be apology time to jru holiday

Seems a couple of people on here ,including me, Could be wrong about this guy. His ceiling seems higer then I once thought and I didn't account for how hard he would work to become a better player. He was already a good athlete and defender but it seems his jumper and decision making got better as the season progressed as well as his showing in orlando. I once thought his ceiling was delonta west but now I think that's his floor

i remember a lot of the talk

i remember a lot of the talk back before the draft being about him not being a natural pg, but in watching him his 1 year at ucla, i could just tell he was much more comfortable with the ball in his hands so i thought that combined with his physical abilities meant the guy had a high ceiling. That and im a ucla fan.

His ceiling is Gary Payton 2.0....His basement Is Delonte

And His 2nd Floor is Rondo....Jrue Holiday WILL be the best Pg from that loaded class...He's better than Westbrook( Jrue has an All Around game not just fast break highlights ) Curry( Better D, Passing and Floor Leadership) Jennings ( Better D, Outside Shot and Mid Range game...Jennings has a better handle and may or may not be a better passer) Rubio ( Do I really have to explain this one...Holiday does everything better than Rubio...D, Jumper, 3pt Shot, Passing(not just fancy passes that wont work in the NBA) Team Player, Not a Diva...Etc Etc Etc....I really feel like Holiday will prove to best the biggest steal of that Draft...Collison is Not better and not a bigger steal...Jrue was a top 5 Talent in the draft and Collison went where he projected...Not a steal just a good pick...

Jrue- 6'4 Great Defender and Slasher with improving Jumper and Passing Ability...Is super young and talented and Is already a top 10 defender...If he can get a 3pt shot to go down consistently and learns how to post up smaller Point Guards he'll average over 15pts-8apg-4rpg-2spg
All this as a 3rd or 4th option on Offense...I feel he should take more shots and that should start Speights too...

Starting Line Up
Holiday-Turner-Iguadola-Speights-Hawes

Bench
Thad-Brand-Williams-Nocioni-Meeks-Kapono-Green

I love jrue personally and i

I love jrue personally and i was also one of his main backers on this site from day 1... i got trashed for it as well... from the moment he got consistent playing time you could see this aura about him, and confidence oozing from within... He has great size, and control..... he is very quick, and already IMO a terrific on the ball defender... I dont think My sixers will make any serious noise this yr, but Defense starts up top on the ball, and he will set the tone for us..

Im excited to see his progress this yr. I expect him to be he sixers leader as well.. YOu heard it here.. Jrue is the sixers leader... Iggy will rebound nicely but he is sooooooo far from being a leader, and his body language is horrible.

62-159 39.0 % from 3 last

62-159 39.0 % from 3 last yr... I think it will be around the same #, maybe slight improvement but he will shoot more than 159 3's next season as well...

Ummmmm. Yeah I'm not going

Ummmmm. Yeah I'm
not going that far. When has he shown he's better then any of those guys besides rubio who hasn't played? I wouldn't take him over Jennings anyday of the week or curry or Westbrook. You say he's better at this or that but it's been proven other wise and you saying it obviously doesn't make it true. Players have to prove theses things first

I still wouldn't take him over any if them. Westbrook curry and Jennings will
possible be all stars one day. And holiday shouldn't even be in the same sentence as rondo

I've admitted my wrong. I

I've admitted my wrong. I thought he's ceiling was Delonte West, but he's gonna be better than that. He's no Gary Payton though. I don't see him being an All-Time great like Payton is.

Iggy was out of position for his 1st couple years in the L...

With a true Pg and Future Sg In Turner , Iggy now can play his true role...A lock down defending Sf with offensive versatility and great passing skill...He's best as a slasher and now has 2 players that can set him up...Miller was a great floor leader but He looked for his own shot more than Holiday and Turner will In years 1 and 2 of their career's ...Iggy,Thad and M16 are great slashers...Brand a good post up guy and Hawes can stretch the floor unlike any center the Sixers have had...The real key to the Sixer's success will be the progression of Turner at 2(can he be B.Roy or Penny with less hops), Speights as a Starting Pf(can he be a L.A type for the Blazers) and Hawes as a Brad Miller scoring Center...can Hawes be a good 15 point scorer and consistent outside threat that pulls other Big men out the Lane???

Going Forward the Sixers still need a Defensive Center and Pure Shooting Sg to back up Turner and Iggy...Thad will be huge to this teams future Too...Because if he turns it on and proves to be a better Compliment to Holiday/Turner and Speights he'll give the Sixer's the green light to Trade Iguadola for a Defensive stopper at C and shooter off the Bench...

i dont miss a sixers gm.. i

i dont miss a sixers gm.. i watch all 82.. hes definitely not curry, jennings, nor westbrook, but mark my words... Watch him next time he plays against Jennings.. I GUARANTEE he locks him up.. Hes going to be a better pro than jennings. I truly believe that. He will be a way better shooter than Westbrook (horrible shooter)... I dont think he'll ever have the offensive versatility that Curry has..i also feel he will eventually be an all star.

fellas keep in mind he was youngest player drafted last yr... YOUNGEST... hes got time to develop....

You said he would be BETTER.

You said he would be BETTER. You said Philadelphia would be better off with Thaddeus Young as there best player. Somebody made a post about it and you were saying Thaddeus Young would be BETTER than Iguodala would. It's funny how you pretend like you don't remember. You were putting up stats and everything LMAO.

Thaddeus Young is also not a better scorer than Iguodala is.

I don't really care if you think all that stuff. Fact is, Iguodala is the best and most valuable player on the team and has been every since Iverson was traded.

So If Your starting a Team...

You'd Take Flynn,Curry, Jennings,Rubio,Collison,Maynor or Westbrook over Holiday...

Reasons why you'd take any of those guys over Holiday??? If you're building a Championship Team??

Flynn. To small. Not a real point guard. Suspect D and Passing ability. Isn't he already a plan B Pg?

Curry.Defensive Liability, still a Tweener. Can be Nash like but Nash didn't win a ring. Stats inflated?

Jennings.Too small.Defensive liability. Turnover prone. Can be a ball hog. Will he become AI like ?

Rubio. Too slow. No Shot. Bad man to man D. Takes to many risk on D. Turnover prone.Euro bust?

Collison.Too small.Still a backup. No real outside shot. Doesn't have a huge upside. CP3 heir???

Maynor.Still a back Up. But a great back up...Can you win with him, Yes. Is a better than Holiday...No.

Westbrook. No outside shot. wild on offense. Tweener. Good for highlights and solid D. But not a real point guard. Is he Rondo? Is he Ron Harper? Who is this guy really...??? What Championship Pg is he similar too...???

I'm saying That Holiday is better at every single aspect in the game of Basketball but He's Just has good a Defender as Westbrook. A better team player then Jennings. Better passer and point guard than Curry and a far better all around player than Rubio...What separates Holiday from that pack...The opportunity is now there for Holiday to show that he's a better Player than a lot of those guys you mentioned...whether or not he can Shoot like Curry, Dunk like Westbrook, Dribble like Jennings or Pass like Rubio...The fact remains he can do every thing as well as the others mentioned and he's younger and has as much room to grow as any one in the League...He's already more a more complete player than all of those guys...Think about it...

I think Holiday is a Top 10 point guard after Next year, with room to become top 5. Just Watch ....

If I'm building a title team

If I'm building a title team yea Jennings over holiday anyday. You see how he lead his team to the playoffs. Holiday had trouble starting over lou while Jennings took lukes spot. You talk like holiday had this great rookie year but he didn't. And no he's not the leader of the team iggy is. That was just a very dumb statement.

I'm amazed at this pump up of holiday like he dominated last year. He was average not super with a nice upside. Westbrook rondos upside are all much higher. And defense can be learned so it's not like thoses players defense won't get better. All theses guys are young and will get better but some showed from
day 1 that they are readY

Igoudala is definitely NO

Igoudala is definitely NO longer the most valuable player on that tm.. if he was so worthy, how come they are exploring trading him as we speak? LMFAO... I know ur not from philly... I AM... read the philly papers young man... Why do u think they drafted Turner? iggy has 1 foot out the door.. illl be sure to remind u again once it happens.

listen i know ur on this site 24/7, and post summer lg stuff daily.. Im sure the regulars enjoy it.. I dont have time for that type of dedication to a public forum lol, but i do know my sixers better than most, and definitely better than a guy who is just "an iggy fan"....... i am a homer... 100 %..

ill give u some sources so u can up your knowledge on what the franchises goals are..

see the following to UP ur philly knowledge.

daily news, inquirer, philly.com, and the philadelphia press... Once you begin to read and truly follow the tm it will bring a lot to light for you.. I wish you luck youngster..

No Offense.

Personally I haven't seen Holiday play enough at any level to have any idea what his ceiling ir or isn't, but I will say that it seems kind of pointless to apologize about what you said about someone because they are tearing it up in Summer League. Don't get me wrong. It's a good starting point, but it's mostly a bunch of young guys, undrafted free agents, and other guys that can't get or stay in the league that get on these teams. Apologize once the guy continues his improvement during and after the season, when he makes an all star team, etc. Too many people wear out the summer league to do nothing significant when it matters.

Didnt westbrook avg. like 8

Didnt westbrook avg. like 8 assists last season. there's no way i will take holiday over any of those players except collision, maynor, flynn, and rubio. westbrook has a good mid range game has to expand range.

Are you serious? So

Are you serious? So basically holiday is either gonna be a allstar this year or very close since that's what iggy is. And Jennings is much better then holiday. Like I saidhe didn't look great last year Unlike Jennings he didn't lead a bad team into the playoffs and he couldn't even beat out Lou Williams y'all can say whatever about holiday but just like knick fans wanting this or that super star it's all talk because the proof right now is Jennings curry Westbrook Collins are better untill holiday PROVES other wise. Hell I can say rubio is netter then any pg in the NBA and that fits into this conversation since there's no proof to back up
my statement.

Especially if your getting

Especially if your getting personal because you were dead wrong in something you said. Just admit you were wrong. And who is more valuable than Andre Iguodala on Philadelphia? Just because they are trying to trade him doesn't mean he's not the most valuable player on the roster.

New Orleans explored trades for Chris Paul.

Indiana has explored trades for Danny Granger.

Who on those teams are more valuable than they are? No one.

And who really cares that you read the newspaper? Why are you telling me that? I don't care....Watch basketball and form your own opinion. I don't need any newspaper to confirm what I know..

stanfordhoops, exactly, it

stanfordhoops, exactly, it all just guess work still. But just simply looking at what guys do as rookies and saying that is how it will always be and those guys proved it so therefore people cant possibly say someone will better until it actually happens makes no sense either. If that was the case, then why even evaluate young players, we should just look at boxscores since that pretty much shows what guys have already done.

I don't get it. Jrue Holiday

I don't get it. Jrue Holiday over Brandon Jennings? Really. You think Jrue Holiday has improved, watch how good Jennings will be next year. Y'all are acting like Jennings will just sit on his thumbs while Holiday improves. Jennings is already a VERY good deal better and more talented than Holiday, and he's about the same age. He'll improve to, and I don't see Holiday ever being as good.

If I'm a GM or Coach Or Team Mate I want Holiday

Over All those Guys I brought up...Some of those guys are just more exiting and that's got people gassed up...Some put up inflated stats...Some are great talents but are that are more dynamic as scorers and the old expression goes Defense whens Championships...Tak into account that most Contenders have Great Scorer on the Wing(Kobe,Wade,Lebron,Melo, Allen and Pierce combo,Manu) and a great low post Guy
(Gasol,Garnett,Bosh,Howard,Duncan)

The Point is usually the unsung hero...The ultimate role player...Jrue is the Prototype for the Championship point Guard...I'm happy as hell we got Him, but we still need to surround him with a Dominate low post guy and Elite Scorer on the Wing...

It's alot more likely that

It's alot more likely that thoses guys will continue to be better then holiday. We should just put holiday in the tyreke dissvussion then since it seems he's gonna be sooo good and we don't know what's gonna happen in the future. Yeah we don't know but we can make a pretty good guess by watching a player just like people made a pretty good guess rose Westbrook durant melo bron were gonna still be better then there peers the next year after there rookie years and the year after

value for the money

value for the money iggy....... You think iggy i worth that? as you would say..... COME ON....

its a horrible contract, and like i said they are actively pursuing moving him.. If hes so great, why are they doing that? its in the philly papers EVERYDAY..

and to stanford hoops... is iggy almost an all star? i thought he regressed, like every expert says.. Now with Collins at the helm (if not moved b4 season) you might be right.. Hes known to turn programs around. I am not an iggy hater (although his body langauge is horrible).. ... Im an iggy hater for the amount of money he is getting paid though. ...He is not worth that kind of coin..

There is a legit argument

There is a legit argument that Holiday is better than all those guys mentioned.

He is 6'4" athletic, is a good defender, is young, and he has shown legit point guard skills. He also has decent NBA speed. He is also a better shooter than more of the guys mentioned. I think in this coming season if he can be more consistent than Lilperez will be right. Iggy is a more versatile player than Thad Young but Young may be a better fit at small forward than Iggy because he can shoot and his game is more geared towards being a small forward than being a swingman that needs the ball in his hands a lot to put up points.

Also I doubt Brand comes off the bench.

There are a lot of thing that come in to play when you are saying someone is a better point guard. I would put Holiday above Westbrook only because I don't see Westbrook as a natural point. Jrue seems to play with a better control than Westbrook does already.

Also when you can shoot as good as Curry, pass as well as he does, know the game pretty well, and can get 2 steals, those can outweight what Holiday brings to the table.

I would take Curry over most of the guys that were mentioned including Holiday. Holiday will need to show he can dominate a game and not just be skilled in a lot of things because I already know Jenning can take over and make other better same for Curry but Holiday has yet to show that but the thing is , he has the skills to do it so it is a legit argument that he could be better but as of now there is not any definite proof.

Just because you are

Just because you are exploring trades doesn't mean you can't be the most valuable player on a team. Believe it on not. As I said, Chris Paul and Danny Granger, easily the most valuable players on their respective teams, all have been involved in perceived trade talks. That has no bearing as to who is the best player on a

"as you would say..... COME ON...."

LMAO, when have I ever said "Come on" before? smh

You really care about body language. We were a losing team last year. What you want him to do. Smile and do toe touches? Nobody on the team was exactly a ray of sunshine

That makes no sense. You

That makes no sense. You hate him because of the amount of money he gets paid? So even though he gives good effort and is a very good player you hate him because if the money healed. Doesn't it make more sense to hate the owner for giving him that money? Would it be right for someone to hate holiday because he got paid millions this year but couldn't beat out Lou Williams for the starting spot. I know alot of players who I think are over paid and aren't as good as iggy but I don't hate on them because of that. It's there job to get as much money ad they can. It would be a different story if they didn't work hard or were doing a Jamarcus Russell.

well then we dissagree on the

well then we dissagree on the holiday/jennings comparison. But you make it sound like its clear jennings will keep that edge and we have to be really reaching to think otherwise.

Holiday's game is more of a well rounded pg who is coming into being a complete player. Jennings is a great one on one scorer which is pretty much the only edge i give him. Holiday is a more willing passer, a better defender, he has better size which allows him to finish in traffic better. And I think he will be a better % shooter from inside and outside. Jennings might score more points, but he will probably always have a low percentage and his defense will probably be nothing special and i dont see him being a play maker for his teammates like holiday.

It might take a few years, but holidays well rounded game is gonna surpass jennings scoring ability as a more valuable player. But becasue jennings is so good one on one, he's gona get more minutes and opportunities to make plays while holiday has to work his way up.

Thaddeus Young can't shoot

Thaddeus Young can't shoot Sheltwon. Not better than Iguodala can either really. And he definitely can't handle the ball and create his own shots as well from the perimeter as Iguodala. Young should be a 6th man off the bench where he can be a matchup ploy since he's too small to bang at PF consistently, and not developed enouGh in his perimeter skills to play consistently at SG.

Jrue Holiday is not a better

Jrue Holiday is not a better passer than Brandon Jennings is. Jennings will be a better assist man than Holiday. He'll shoot better percentage wise than Jennings will inside the 3-point line, but he won't score nearly as much or shoot the 3-ball as well. Holiday will have a defensive advantage too.

see now when u make a pt u

see now when u make a pt u have to realize what your talking about? Why is NO exploring moving CP3? For same or different reasons than iggy... Hornets might be sold, and there looking to unload money... Sixers reasoning on a different level... They drafted Turner for a reason, and moving iggy is reason why. you are comparing apples and oranges.. Who was drafted on Indiana? Paul George.. IM sure your starting to get what im saying now.. Totally different reasons.. Pacers / Sixers reasons alike... Hornets - not even in same neighborhood..and in additon here is where u say "COME ON"
LOL..

"He's not going to be better than Brandon Jennings. Come on now" LMFAO////// its your thing.. its okay... i have my sayings too. You did it all the time in argumentative threads.. Its your general rebuttal phrase..

Young should be a 6th man off the bench where he can be a matchup ploy since he's too small to bang at PF consistently, and not developed enouGh in his perimeter skills to play consistently at SG.

when has thad EVER played the 2? enlighten me..... he never has... 3/4 ONLY...

You say he's. Not worth his

You say he's. Not worth his coin so let's look at that. Players get paid based on ability and what others at his position are getting paid. Iggy is ranked number 30 as far as top salaries in the NBA. Behind Antwan Jamison rashard Lewis. You don't think his skill is worthy of being the 30th or close to the 30th highest contract in the NBA?

He beat him out for the

He beat him out for the starting spot, but he only played like right around 20 mpg up until like the last 3 or 4 weeks of the season. It's not like he was getting legit starter time. He was a 5 ppg 3 apg player until the lasty 3-4 weeks of the year. Williams played the most minutes and was the better player. Williams played PG in the crucial points of the games.

He started getting starter minutes at the end of the year when all the teams that aren't going to the playoffs or contending start putting in their young players and 2nd teamers to get experience for the next season.
