If you are considered a top five prospect for this years draft, WHAT ARE YOU DOING ??

I'm mad that Jared and Perry are staying back because they are risking their stock dropping say because of a injury or bad performance for next year. Next years draft is gonna be loaded I'm suggesting that they should declare and not risk getting picked later in the draft next year.

Exactly. This is a tough

Exactly. This is a tough decision for them. for some its not just about going top 5. they might really like college. Anyone who has been to college should be able to understand how much fun you have there and the people you meet and how fun basketball is. Yeah millions await you but I'm sure they know it will be there next year as well and once you make that decision there's no turning back. We cant fault them just because they don't make the same decision or a decision as quick as we would have made it

It isn't annoying

With a possible lockout looming why would they risk losing a year while they could go back to school, get an education and further improve their game?

If I was in their position and a possible lockout looming, I would definitely stay at school. You're only in college for a short period of time as opposed to the NBA where you'll be there for 10-15 years.

@torontoraptors10 That doesn't mean losing a year, if there is a lockout, they can go to Europe and play some basketball there, earn some money and prove themselves at a higher level than the NCAA.

I guess they can always have a clause to leave europe once the lockout is over.

If I was a top 5 pick I would definitely try this option rather than staying another year in college and getting chances of hurting my stock

Why make a decision before

Why make a decision before you have to? More info about the lock out could come out and I would want all my options open.

I think a lot of college

I think a lot of college coachs are manipulaters they tell these kids that another year of preparation will help there game and cause them to go higher and be a better pro player. The reality is a few help there stock and the majority hurt there stock considerably. Also pro teams put a lot more commitment into higher picks to protect there investment. So the reality is the Colleges who exploit the kids and the NBA owners who get a safer investment and the College players get screwed and lose out on there future with the NBA.

@topotmolder

All I'm trying to say is that, they can play in familiar territory and not stunt in their growth in Europe because it will be hard to get a starting spot and I know they're hard on younger kids, ask Jeremy Tyler. While staying in college they can work towards a degree and have a better time relating to kids their age, since you only get this time of your life once.

Did you know 60% of basketball players are almost broke five years after they've retired?

And here is a source to back it up: http://www.thestar.com/Sports/article/299119

we are the people who see

we are the people who see them in realistic way..but just try to imagine, if you are good freshman, you think that you are the best for sure, and you just think how to show it to others..

i think both SUlly and Perry have their personal opinion that they are both going to be #1 in next years draft because of their improvements...is one of the right? we will see.

You're right @thunderbear,

You're right @thunderbear, Which is one reason Coach Cal gets so many top players. They do't wanna deal with the guilt trip a coach would try to put on them
