I wanted to see Jordan’s numbers during the post-season and found a lot of interesting stats.

The least amount of points Jordan ever averaged in a playoff series was 27.3ppg (1996 NBA Finals vs Seattle)

He averaged over 40ppg in a single playoff series 5 times.

During his 6 title runs, the Bulls only went to a game 7 twice (1992 conf semis vs Knicks, 1998 conf finals vs Pacers).

Including postseason, he scored 50+ points.39 times (8 times in the playoffs).

Never scored less than 15 points in any postseason game, 179 games.

Hold 6 of the 10 highest ppg averages in single playoff series history, The other 4 being Jerry West, Bernard King, Rick Barry, and Elgin Baylor.

Oldest player ever to score 50 points in a game (38 years, 315 days….51 points vs the Hornets in 2001).

Obviously his list of accomplishments goes on forever, just a few I wanted to note. If you want to look at more check this page out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_career_achievements_by_Michael_Jordan

I dont know about series, but the lowest fga per game hes ever attempted in playoff year is 22.6…Normal to score pts when shoot a lot,but still interesting facts because he was so efficient while shooting a lot.

These numbers along with being the ultimate competitor makes him imo the greatest player of all time. Jordan just showed up every night and you knew what you were going to witness….GREATNESS!!! I just feel like the guy could truly dominate in any era, he was just that damn good!

Could someone post other postseason stats of jordan other than scoring? I believe his rebounds and assists numbers in some series when he was younger were just as good as his scoring.

One thing about Jordan: at some point we all just “knew” that Jordan was the GOAT.
He had that “it” factor. We knew for awhile that he could end up being the greatest, and then along the was
    he WAS.

With LeBron, it’s like, if you have to ask, he’s not the best. If he gets there we will know.
If he drops a 50, 15, and 12 in game 7 of the Finals with a game winner to give him 4 straight titles then we can say
“Dang, he’s the best.” But, he’s not there yet. He needs At Least a few more years and definitely a title over
    Duncan and the Spurs.

When it’s all said and done though, Jordan will be the best guard ever, Magic the best point guard, LeBron the best forward, and the Mount Rushmore of Best Bigs ever will be Wilt, Russell, Kareem, Hakeem, Shaq, and Duncan.

Wilt has been on this short list of GOATs for years and he retired about 40 years ago.

No matter what happens, 50 years from now MJ will be on that Mount Rushmore of All-Time Greats.

I still find his 28-6-6 rookie splits amazing. Then the next year he averages over 40 a game in the playoffs…then 37 per game the next season…Social media flip out if that happened today.

Hard to beat Jordan’s 1989 playoff stats:

17 games, 42.2 mins, 51.0% shooting, 13.5 FTA (made 79.9%), 7.0 rebounds, 7.6 assists, 2.5 steals, 0.8 blocks, 34.8 points. And people still thought he wasn’t a winner, because he had no rings.
