Ch13f23ParticipantIndiana:
Trades
T.Murphy
B.RushNew Orleans:
Trades
Okafor
CollisonWhy would the Pacers do this?
They would get a young point guard that have proven his game to us when CP3 was out and yes they could get the bloated contract of Okafor but if it means that they would get Collison with it why not? plus I think Okafor would definitely help the Pacers, and let him play alongside Hibbert which I think will greatly benefit both of the players. Why wouldn’t the Hornets do this?
1. Murphy’s Expiring contract plus his a proven double double guy.
2. I know they have Thorton at 2 but I think Marcus would be much more effective off the bench cause his an instant offense. What do you think??

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantI don’t think people grasp that New Orleans would only deal Collison if it saves them now, not in a year. It is like last year with the Jazz. They considered dealing Boozer if it got them under the tax line, but they were not going to move him for just another expiring deal. New Orleans has expiring deals. Life gets better once Peja, Songaila, and Mo-Pete come off the books. To get Collison, a team needs to take Okafor or another bad contract like Peja in exchange for their cap room.

Ch13f23Participantsince Indiana is trying to land a point why wouldn’t you take on Collison I think he has proven that he could a great starting point for any team and I know taking on Okafor’s contract would hurt their cap next year but I think Emeka and Hibbert would greatly compliment each others game.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think Okafor’s contract is longer than MO pete, Peja and Posey. so why wouldn’t you trade away a your young point if you would find a team that is willing to take on Okafor.0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/23/2010 - 1:22pm #338838
wellinapParticipantIf I was Bird I would give them my 10th overall pick rather than B. Rush. I still think Rush could be a great player in time. I’m not happy about getting Okafor’s horrible contract but he becomes a future replacement for Foster as the backup Center to Roy Hibbert. Getting Collison tho is the most important thing in my eyes but I’m not sure who will replace Troy Murphy in the starting PF spot, idk if JOB would start McRoberts

B-ball fanParticipantBad deal for them. A terrible contract for Okafor when they already have two solid centers, and a mediocre pg for a very good wing who can shoot and play defense and an expiring deal on a power forward, who is better than the Center they just traded for.
