festar35ParticipantIndiana are really show8ng their inexperience and I’m disappointed in the lack of offensive adjustments. Short of getting the ball out of Oladipo’s hands they need to create more options for him.
If they want to double Victor on the screen then we need to make a couple of adjustments ASAP.
#1: Set the screen as high as possible it’ll give Oladipo more room to attack.
#2: Use high slip screens with Bogdanovic and Turner, if they roll quick enough they can be open straight away and shoot or attack the hoop.
#3: When Oladipo give a it up he should dive to the hoop then flash out to the strong side corner where he can get the ball back and should have open **** or 1 v 1 opportunity.
#4: Simply run Oladipo off the ball more, he actually looks pretty good in catch and shoot situations. I think it’ll be something he focuses on in off-season in terms of recognising his shot or curling to the hoop.
#5: Get Sabonis to set the screens, he is far stronger and the thing that annoys me most about Turner is how weak and indecisive he can be with the ball. Sabonis makes a decision and goes with it, Turner also throws some really weak passes.#6: An off season option is find another guy who can create his own offense at an elite level. Collison, Bogdanovic, Young, Turner, Joseph etc. all serve a purpose and role, but we need another talent. (Kemba would be ideal – create a Houston lite with Walker/Oladipo like Paul/Harden.
Sabonis is the only guy on the roster I can see developing into a guy you can go to outside of a play to create something on this roster outside Oladipo

holefillers1ParticipantCreate more turnovers. This is what makes me fear the Pacers. You guys are top 3 in the league in turnovers forced, points off turnovers, steals and top five in fast break points. Gotta force more than 10 t.o. and more than 7 fast break points to beat the Cavs.

iguapops420ParticipantYou don’t see Turner developing into a legit second option? He’s only 22. Big men take longer to develop and he saw his minutes and touches decrease a bit this year. I still can see him developing into a Spurs level version of LMA.

IndianaBasketballParticipantMost Pacer fans expected more out of Turner this season, but I’m still a believer in his upside as an all-star caliber type of player. People are so inpatient smh. It took Oladipo until his 5th season to become the star player people thought he could be when he was drafted.
Turner is going to get better.

festar35ParticipantI really like Turner, I think he is a real talent. From what I’ve seen he won’t be a guy that continually creates his own look when you need a shot. Fantastic in pick’n’roll, pick’n’pop & spot up shooter.
He definitely needs to go out and bulk up this off-season if we expect him to really start to dominate.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI see no reason why Turner can’t develop into a LaMarcus Aldridge type of player.
He just needs strength. Not just bulk, but lower body and core strength. Another key thing is he needs to stay healthy. Only averaging 68 games played so far his first three seasons.
I just see him as as one of those players who’s going to make a huge leap in improvement/production in the next season or two.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’d like to see more offensive adjustments too. No doubt about that. However, I feel like the Pacers just didn’t play well. Oladipo had open looks. They just didn’t go in. Thad Young missed 3-4 layups. The Pacers shot 8/13 at the free-throw line.
Not only that, the Pacers have a bad habit starting games slow. Yea, they’ve made some nice combebacks, but it bit them in the ass last night. How do you come out like that two consecutive games at home? I was at both games and the building was electric. The poor starts kill the vibe.
I’d like to see the Pacers defend LeBron like the Cavs are defending Oladipo. Switch up the defensive coverage and start doubling him on ball screens and sometimes even without the ball screen. Force another player to beat them. Force somebody else to make a play off of the dribble.

festar35ParticipantI was thinking about what it would look like if we double James. My concern is he is 6’9 so will be able to see the floor a lot better and unlike Oladipo he is far more comfortable with those double teams.

OhCanada-ParticipantClevelands shooters have been streaky and your Pacers havent given guys like Love any room to breath. You double James you risk the chance of having them heat up and then its lights out. Imo they are doing a good job they just cant waste possessions offensively but its easier said then done. Alot that goes into beating the Cavs.

Lotto StudParticipantI wish Glenn Robinson III was healthy for this run.

festar35ParticipantHe is healthy, but Mate not using him in playoff rotation. He played a few good games down the stretch and started to shoot the ball well. If Indiana don’t bring him back some team could get a mini-steal with him as he has all the tools to be a good 3 & D player.
