What will the Pacers do? I mean even if they get through this series things are not working.

I am going for the hyperbole “blow it all up scenario.”

First thing is Paul George and Ian Mahinmi stay, Mahinmi is an athletic C which seems to be really effective in the league. A potential lob threat and he plays D and rebounds, reminds me of Robin Lopez.

Secondly what to do with Hibbert, I say look to trade him, I have no idea what the market would be for him out there. I can see Dallas taking a chance on him and try get Larkin Blair in return. It doesn’t seem like a lot but at least it is something.

Thirdly I look to move West for a pick from the Bulls, I think West would fit in very nicely in Chicago. I think that they could use the pick to get a guy like Payne as he could also space the floor and reminds me of an athletic Channing Frye. Sign Humphries as a stop gap starter as he develops.

Fourth I am moving Stephenson if I can get a lottery pick and the one I am looking for is Denver’s and am after Young or Hood to become a young range shooter for Indiana. I think a guy that can spread the floor would be ideal. Try get Jodie Meeks as another off the bnch scorer as well.

Lastly I have Hill who I still like as a 6th man/SG however, if he can get me a legit PG like Reggie Jackson to be a young starter in Indiana.

I let Turner walk, as he isn’t worth the money he will ask.

    The team is
    C. Mahinmi/Blair
    PF. Humphries/Payne/Allen
    SF. George/Copeland/Hill
    SG. Hood or Young/Meeks
    PG. Jackson/Larkin/Sloan

This is an extreme off season , but it is fun to think about this stuff.

something is wrong there, but there is too much talent to blow it up like you are suggesting. I mean you turned hibbert, stephenson and west into a late lotto pick, pick in the 20’s, shane larkin and dejuan blair. I know i didnt watch nearly as much nba this year as i normally do, but did the pacers really turn things that much more for the worse from just last summer?

No they haven’t, but I think that a high lotto pick is outta the question. Unless the Lakers say end up with 5-6th pick and would take Stephenson and Hibbert for it plus Meeks then they could pick up Smart for starting guard spot, then move Hill for a mid-round pick and pick up Warren, Early or Lavine.

      Then you got….
      C. Mahinmi
      PF. West
      SF. George
      SG. Warren/Lavine
      PG. Smart

Like I said it is to an extreme, but they won’t improve standing pat and Indiana has been a middling team for so dam long I would rather strip down to build back up.

If they keep struggling like this, Jabari Parker can’t get in to the NBA soon enough to put a smile back on my face.

Hibbert has to go, and they need to find a complimentary scorer next to George.  I’m also not the biggest fan of George Hill as a championship teams starting PG.  I’d rather have him as the first guard off the bench.

Roy Hibbert is fools gold! Shined real nice last season only to tarnish and deplete his value this season.

I think Stephenson not being named an All-Star really hurt this team. He was playing excellent team ball, getting triple-doubles and solid D, and if he’d been recognised for being a team player then I think he wouldn’t have become as selfish as he seemingly has right now.

Also, this team is far from maxed out, Stephenson and George still have tremendous upside and Hibbert isn’t the dead weight he seems to be against Atlanta.

Trading Hibbert would be perhaps the worst idea AT THIS MOMENT, considering his trade value is at an all-time low. They should try to find a decent PG with experience, who can lead this team (as that is something they clearly lack). If there is any possibility they can get someone like Rondo for anyone except George and Hibbert, or another solid PG to replace Hill I think they will be fine. Question is; what is an available solid PG these days? Nelson?

And Hibbert doesn’t match up well against the Hawks…  He’s in a scoring slump and looking to blame everyone but himself…  It’s almost like the Pacers have accepted that there are chemistry issues and players refuse to take accountability for themselves…

I’ve said 2 years ago George Hill is NOT the guy at PG…  His confidence is shakey and his defense is more fools gold than anything else.  What’s the purpose of him playing decent minutes when he can’t guard anyone on the court??  Can’t even stay with Kyle Korver…

It’s hard for me to say Lance is any part of the problem because they look terrible without him…   He goes and grab an offensive rebound/steal and Paul George uses that extra possession to take a step back contested jumper…

The issue on that team is no real superstar is actually on that team…  Paul George will be the guy, but clearly he isn’t there yet because if he was I should see more gripe about him and not Hibbert on this site.  In both Pacers losses he’s shot 31%…   Which is about the same as Roy Hibberts percentage, but PG gets no blame even though this HIS team…

something seems to have happened within the lockerroom no one knows about or isnt talking about.

Paul George seemed destined to catapult to superstar status at the beginning of the year. But he lost all consistency in his game.

Hibbert hasn’t had a game with more than 12 rebounds in about 10 games.

7’2 and plays with no heart. Maybe they stopped playing for Vogel.

It just all seems weird for a team that all they talked about was getting back to the playoffs ready for Miami.

    Now? I dont know

If they do blow it up, Vogel will go first. As do all coaches. They take most the blame.
