Paul Millsap would have been a GREAT fit for Orlando. He’s an unselfish, experienced, skilled PF that could have been the face of the franchise until the young pups were ready to take over..

Scott Skiles would have had a true veteran presence on the floor & locker room to usher in playoff expectations amongst an inexperience core. Just think for a moment what he could have provided Aaron Gordon? A guy who relies almost exclusively on athleticism to succeed. Millsap could have shown him so much & helped him with his decision making, fundamentals, and all the other nuances. As a FOUR, not a THREE!

Millsap would have spread the floor, with legit range to 3pt line without compromising this advantage on the defensive end (see Channing Frye).

Lastly, it would have sent a message to other free agents next year and the year after that Orlando takes the necessary steps to accelerate their rebuild. Needless to say I was really dissappointed he didn’t sign with us.

I love Paul Milsap and his impact on a team, but 20 million per season over the next 4 years is a little worrisome IMO, I would rather continue to develop Aaron Gordon and others at PF until a real game changer came along

I think the Magic have a great young core and need to continue to let them grow together, let Vucevic and Olapido become the leaders and plug in veterans eventually, Milsap deserves to play for a contender in his prime years and Atlanta provides that right now with Horford, Teague, Korver, Schroeder and Splinter…

The Magic may have made a jump with Paul Milsap but not to the level of The Hawks, in fact this may have been a great way to make a division rival pay Max money to a older free agent to create more room for them later…
