I'm Impressed with these Raps, man.
And just when I finished posting this, Terrence Ross ends the 1st half with a buzzer-beater for 3. He has the potential to be better than Derozan, who didn't have the jumpshot Ross had when he came into the league.
Terrence Ross definitely will end up being the better player. He is a better shooter, passer, defender and is just as athletic or greater. His handles isn't great like Derozan, but the style he plays covers that up because he is always moving without the ball.
He kinda reminds me of KD in that, he'll get 20 points shooting a high percentage without being ball dominant letting the offense come to him. Let me take that back, his ball handling is better than advertised. He has a very sweet stoke, so that helps him drive by people because defenders have to play him honest.
Terrence Ross is a monster. I know some Raptors fans were unhappy with the pick because they could've chose Drummond, but they had just selected Jonas the year before and he will be VERY good for them alongside Ed Davis, though I don't know why they haven't played Ed more. The young pieces they have acquired are starting to show very good progress. They still need to make a decision on Lowry or Calderon as the long-term PG, and just hope that homecooking is good in 2014, ya'll know what I mean.
Calderon and Lowry combined have 0 points but 22 assists tonight. That's crazy.
The Raptors are currently 12-20.
They were 4-18 with Bargnani.
They are 8-2 without Bargnani.
Toronto, please trade Bargnani....

Do you think Bargnani is tradeable? Are you suggesting that another NBA team should take him and play him?
I think they just have to cut him. Or save him for mop up/blow out duties. Even the Raptors front office and coaching staff have to be getting it through their heads that the dude can't play in the NBA. Cutting his minutes would help, but the best thing is to just send him back to Europe.
Most people can't play in the NBA. It is just a fact. Bargnani is tall but he also can't play in the NBA either. Nothing for him to be ashamed about. But if the coaches and front office can't figure this out after seeing this, I don't know what will get it through their heads.
I've read on hoopshype that TO is actually preferring to keep Calderon over Lowry. Pls remember that Calderon is also playing for a contract and that he did the same thing last time before stealing that huge contract. With that said, TO may need yo package Lowry along with Barns just to get a team to jump at it. What teams do you think will be wiling to accept this package?
Will the lakers do the Gasol swap if the Lakers continue to struggle? Add Lowry to play behind Nash? He can also play off the ball and does a good job guarding Sgs, so this will allow them to play Nash and Lowry together with Kobe at the 3.
Any other possible teams maybe willing to accept a Lowry & Barns package?
If they still end up in this year's lottery, who should they draft to improve their team? Jonas is their center, Ed Davis the PF, Derozan the sg and calderon/lowry the pg. So im guessing all they need now is a decent small forward or should they start derozan and ross together??

No, I'm not talking about Iman Shumpert's rhymes. I'm talking about the Raptors. I'm watching them play vs the Blazers and since Bargs been out, they're playing like a true team. The ball movement has improved, The defense is contagious and they are running the floor more. Ed Davis' jumpshot mechanics have tweaked for the better and he's knocking them down around the post, Derozan is a more confident shooter and he is driving with ease because the lane is open w/ Bargs and Jonas out and Landry Fields finally looks healthy tonight. If the organization can keep this core of players together (except Bargs), they can be really good in the coming years. I'm honestly impressed.
