If your favorite team got the #1 pick?
man, great question. im a die hard knicks fan, and id want them to draft, harrison barnes! a sf. then in the second round draft keith benson.
here would be there line up:
felton douglas
azuibuke fields
chandler barnes
stoudemire gallinari
turiaf benson
then later in the season possibly trade chandler and fields for a good player such as a guy like gerald wallace!
There will still be a draft. So, even if there is no season, the draft still would have happened and teams would have rights to players, unless the NBA becomes completely defunct. That being said, I will speak for the Blazers and say that Kyrie Irving would more than likely be the pick if they got to choose #1. On the other hand, I still believe Harrison Barnes might be the first pick come June. This draft does not look incredibly stacked, but I think Harrison has a bright future and is a solid player. He has yet to live up to expectations, but they were also incredibly high, and he has not been close to as bad as everyone has made him out to be. Sullinger might be another possibility, he seems to be the most NBA ready player possibly in the whole draft, but I still say I like Barnes over the Jones'. Perry Jones has a ton of potential, that is for sure, and I am a big fan of Terrence Jones, but I honestly believe Harrison Barnes has a good chance of being better than either on the next level.
I'm a basketball junkie...I'll watch any Nba game, even if its the Nets playing the Cavs..
But My favorite 4 teams are the Heat,Lakers,Bulls and Grizzlies...
1.I'll love to see the Grizzlies get a point guard with better court vision than Mike Conley...That team would be tough with an upgrade at the point...Kyrie Irving will be great with them..I think Mayo's game will improve if he had a better playmaker....
2.I'll love to see the Lakers get a young stud and groom him to be their next star after Kobe retires..Perry Jones will be great..I wouldnt take him number 1 this season, but next year when he gets more comfortable, everyone will see why scouts are high on him...
3.Terrance Jones will look good playing with Rose..
4.The Heat need a big man with shot blocking, rebounding and post skills more than they need a point guard...Kanter might fit the bill
Celtics... Harrison Barnes. He would benefit from their great team approach and could be mentored by Pierce during his first couple of seasons. He and Rondo would also provide a great foundation for the future after the Boston Three Party ends.
when will people realize that barnes was so overhyped cause this class didnt have a true star so they hyped him so much(i saw comparisions to kobe -.-)... he isnt franchise player,he isnt best player in 1-4th seed playoff team..at best 20 ppg maybe 1-2 times all star
lol...If you know anything about the game of basketball..You'll be able to see that Barnes have the talent to be a very special player if he regains his confidence and remain in school another year or 2....Barnes was over hyped, i wrote a post about that before the college basketball season...If you look at what he and Perry Jones can become..You might be able to understand why scouts are high on them...They're both 2 years away from reaching their potential...Nobody knew after Wade's 1st 20 games his freshman year..That he would become 1 of the 3 best players in the nba....
For the celtics i think...any top tier power forward to take the place of KG. I don't think Big Baby will be a suitable replacement to pair with Rondo so I would choose Perry jones, Sullinger, or Terrence Jones.
How can you not have a favorite team (not plural, just a single team that you consider "yours")? I guess being from outside Philly it is a lil easier for me than people from North Dakota maybe? Either way, I want my Sixers to get Enes Kanter. Spencer Hawes needs to take his gay ass hair cut back to the bench and contribute a solid 15-18 minutes per game.
As a Wizards fan, I would want my team to take Perry Jones. The Wizards weakest position is SF and they need another scorer next to John Wall at SF. Perry Jones is raw and a lot of people question his demeanor, but if he pans out, he can become a great scorer and a top NBA talent.
Sullinger would be my second choice though.
Since it is likely to have a lockout next year, I actually think quite a few top rated prospects may pass on the 2011 draft. This would mean the 2011 draft can be pretty weak.
The following players may not enter the 2011 draft
Kyrie Irving - potential season ending injury may keep Irving at Duke for another year
Harrison Barnes - his terrible performance so far is a big sign that he should return to UNC
Enes Kanter - his dad went public that if Enes is allowed to play in NCAA next year, he would stay at UK
There may also be other players who would think twice if the NBA indeed has a lockout.
Jazz
Barnes would not be bad, but I'd be happy with Alec Burks too. The Jazz could really use a 2 guard to develop alongside Dwill. Burks would be perfect for that, but since he would be a poor choice for #1 pick. Its gotta be either Terrance Jones or Harrison Barnes.
Mavs fan:with Dirk is still having some good years I will go with Irving,He can replace Kidd and Roddy B will be SG which is the best for him even if he is undersized
+ 1 for DanEboy
pistons i would take irving or terrence jones
Being a Kentucky fan, I feel like I have a connection with Enes Kanter, so I would love for us to get him. He can give us a good offensive PF that can post up or face up, plays solid defense, and rebounds tough. If we got him, we could also trade Jeff Green away (Who I would hate to see leave, but he can't start for us if we wanna win a championship) for a better C
im a sonics fan so all i can hope for is that the hornets get moved up here to seattle
if seattle magically gets a team i would like them to get terrence jones (assuming new orleans roster remains intact) that way, he can be the starter at the 3...thatd be a nice frontcourt with west and okafor
JBrace19:why would the T-Wolves want Kyrie Irving?Don't you have Rubio coming next year?
just asking

Who would you want them to pick? My favorite team is the Grizzlies and even though I doubt they get the #1 pick I would want them to take Sullinger or Irving.
Even though they already have Randolph I doubt he resigns if another team offers a big contract, and Sullinger is very similar and would be able to instantly make a huge impact. And even though he doesn't have as much potential as a player like Perry Jones, he is much better right now and im pretty sure he will have the better NBA career.
And even though Irving got injured I still think he will come out, and if he does I would love for them to pick him. Conley has improved but they could still use a upgrade at PG, though it could be hard to get rid of Conley because of his new contract.
So if your favorite team got the #1 pick, who would you want them to pick?
