The8thDeadlySinParticipantSo if the rumors are true and the Nets draft Wes Johnson, why would the Wolves take Favors?? They are already trying to get rid of a PF.. IMO, if Wes goes 3rd the Cousins should go 4th.. With the triangle offense, there needs to be a couple of fairly versatile big men. If they draft Cousins, they now have room to trade Jefferson or Love because they have a solid C to replace them.. If they dont feel comfortable starting him, they can bring him off the bench as a PF/C behind Love/Jefferson and Darko, who they really seem t like..
Is it crazy for the Wolves to draft Favors if Johnson is taken 3rd or am I just off my rocker??

bkb77ParticipantThis means the T-wolves will take Cousins, but I see them trading the 4th pick to SAC or GS cause Favors has alot of value & they want cousins wh o will be there.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI doubt Kahn picks Cousins. He’s made it known he isn’t high on Cousins and Cousins didn’t even bother to work out for them.
The only way he takes Cousins is if he plans on trading him.
It’ll be very interesting to see what Kahn does though. Turner and Johnson will be gone and Favors isn’t an ideal pick, BUT… Who else is there?

knicksfan7ParticipantIs it possible they can maybe trade down with either the Warriors at 6, Pistons at 7, Clippers at 8, or Pacers at 10???

wowthisisneatParticipantfavors although mostly a PF is pretty different than al jeff and love. he is more of an athlete. although less skilled he could provide a different set of defensive skills that the other two dont. maybe they do project him as a C

apb540ParticipantThey should look into positioning themselves to take Greg Monroe. The dude is a perrrrfect fit for the triangle offense.

BlueLacesParticipantI think that the Wolves should take Favors. Then use the rest of the offseason to figure out what to do with Jefferson, Love and the rest of the team.

burningfloodParticipantDidn’t Kahn rip Favors for being out of shape? Besides, I think that Cousins is a far better fit for Minnesota, given that Al and Love are both PFs and Cousins can be the C…Cousins would be the Bynum and Love/Jefferson could be the poor man’s version of Gasol…
And then Sacramento is confronted with Favors or Monroe…if they take Monroe, since they like him, then Favors can fall to GS! Yeah, that’s blatant homerism right there, but if you’re a Warriors fan, you’re almost always going to be extremely biased towards your team.

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantKahn didn’t rip Favors in the manner that it is being reported. Kahn was just giving him advise as to his conditioning…. and if it helped Nets want Wes Johnson more I guess it worked. Favors with Rubio is a nice start to a team….. and I still think it would be fun to watch Wes Johnson play if it comes down to that.

BiggysmallsParticipantThe Twolves should draft Greg Monroe is they arent gonna get Turner. Favors just doesnt impress me that much. I dont see all the hype about the guy. Sure he’s big, he’s fast, he can jump…This isnt the 100m hurdles!! Its basketball. I havent seen Favors show half of the basketball skill that Greg Monroe possesses. And who is to say that Greg Monroe cant keep improving with what is already his tremendous skills. The guy has as much “upside” as anybody in the draft. Who cares if he’s not going to jump over people and dunk in your face…that not what basketball is about.

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantWhat you stated about Favors is what Dwight Howard does to everyone he plays against….. he’s big, fast and he can jump. Basketball is a game match-ups and every time you can gain an advantage you have to seize the opportunity…. that’s what Favors has over Monroe.

BiggysmallsParticipantYeah Dwight Howard does…anybody else? No. How does derrick Favors present matchup problems for anybody? He doesnt have basketball skill. Monroe does. Mark my words Greg Monroe is going to be a top 3 player from this draft class. I just dont see Favors as that guy. Maybe I’m wrong. time will tell.
And PS…what difference does it make to u who gives me points for my posts? If I think I make a good point I just may click that little thumbs up…i have to counter all the idiots on here somehow.
