esperanzafleet69Participanthas anybody noticed that the only people more dumb than the chinese(who have obviously gotten yao all his votes), are the people of LA… andrew bynum, second to yao, is now the leading vote getter for centers in the western conference…
bynum is averaging 9pts 6reb and 1.4 blk… and he has only played in 12 games…. how, in any way, does this warrant a single vote??

RUDEBOY_Participantits unfair but most people vote for their favorite players, not the guys having the best seasons….

Raef LaFrentzParticipantYeah, that’s true. He really doesn’t deserve it at all. Maybe they’ll smarten up and put gasol as the All-Star game C so there’s room for guys like Blake Griffen an Kevin Love.
If Bynum gets the starting center spot, I’ll be kind of ticked off…

ZeroParticipantThey should’ve put Tim or Pau in the C spot, cause I looked at the list for the centers and none of them deserve to start. Having people vote for the all star starters is cool and all, but most of the time the people really don’t know how to vote. Also known as Tmac almost making the starting lineup last season.

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantCall it crazy, but I think that fan votes should have less power. All-Star voting is getting out of control.

torontoraptors10ParticipantI agree. A lot of non-basketball intellectual minds vote on these polls. For example, some 7 year old kid on the playground probably heard an 8th grader say Andrew Bynum is the shiz because he won a championship and in the 7 yr old kid’s eyes he is a superstar, thus leading to dumb votes.
On a more serious note, a lot of people follow highlights and not the actual game. They just hear who’s "good" and just go and vote for them.

Da1potParticipantI’m surprised there hasn’t been a mass write-in vote for Allen Iverson…. Now that would be a embarrassing…. lol

JRdaFilipinoParticipantYes but im some cases the fan voting can turn out to be really cool. Like in the 1998 all star game.. it was Kobe’s first (while averaging only around 15 in his 2nd season) and it was thought to be MJs last ASG, so i mean that matchup was like a dream match up for many.. if it wasnt for the fans, Kobe would never have gotten to the ASG that year.. good thing MJ came back tho :), I wouldnt take away the power of fan voting, sometimes it works out and somebody gets snubbed but other times it makes for some serious entertainment

MelParticipantIts a political thing. The nba is a business.. blah blah … The fans should probably have a 1/3 of a vote with Players and Coaches getting the other 2.
But whatever, let the fans have their exhibition game. its all for the fans

llperez1-yao is normally the best center in the west and who cares if the chinese vote for him. Hes not gonna play so its no bbig deal. In fact we should all be voting for yao. If yao gets the most votes, which he will, then that means none of those sorry centers get to play in the all-star game since david stern then picks a replacement which will be one of a number of solid pf’s most likely who are deserving. Every single one of you should be voting for yao if you want to see deserving players make the all-star game.
ALso, the other 9 are all absolutely desrving. SO why bash the voting process that is pretty darn accurate. ANd have you seen the list for centers? None of them deserve to be in there so its not like someone is being clearly robbed of anything becasue yao and bynum are the leading vote getters.

NYK2010ParticipantBynum at Center wow, no love for Deandre Jordan at least he played.
I agree with OrangeJuiceJones the fans have a lil too much say.
Definately put Gasol or Duncan at Center.
