jefriederParticipantI was actually at the game tonight and I didn’t think mirotic looked too good. He knocked down some threes and had some good looks otherwise, but he was overmatched by nearly everyone defensively. He also made some errand passes and sometimes looked lost on both sides of the court. I think he’s going to be really good, but he needs some time to become more confortable with the American game. The physicality and speed of the game, even though it was preseason, looked to throw him off. He is very long though and looks more like a stretch 5, which is sick. I am not saying he’ll play center, but he just looks taller than I expected.
Glen Rice looked fantastic. He made his own shot pretty often, made some contested shots, and drained some threes. He was also pretty active on the defensive side too.
Derrick Rose looked REALLY good. He didn’t play much, but he was very quick and got to the rim easily.
Otto Porter was very off. He missed a bunch of good looks, but his summer league suggests he just had a bad night.
Doug McBuckets will play a lot for the Bulls this year. He looked quicker than advertised and wasn’t horrible on D. He puts the ball in the basket no matter what, so his D will be what determines if he plays.
Pau looked a little off offensively, but he played great D. I can remember at least too blocks he had and I can just imagine how great him, Noah, and Gibson will be protecting the rim.
Paul Pierce looked slow (but fiesty, which I think the Wizards need), Kevin Seraphin looked ready to be a factor, and Kris Humphries had a nasty broken pinkie.
The two teams don’t like each other and hopefully we’ll have more great Bulls-Wizards games this season.
