I feel bad for T Wolves fans

What are they waiting for to sign Pek?? Give him the contract. Usually I am against throwing money at players, but they have plenty of cap space! Also they don't have to extend Rubio until 2016-17! Pek will be a top 5 center ( going forward) . Shved looked good, Derrick Williams will improve. They have a chance to make some noise if they can stay healthy.

I'm a bit iffy on top 5 but...

He'll be somewhere along the top 15 or something, my Top 5 for the Future will Still be

Andrew Bynum (if he recovers completely)
Dwight Howard
Andre Drummond
Nikola Vucevich
Jonas Valanciunas

With Roy Hibbert chilling at the honorable mention spot.

Just me though, it's a stretch but it has potential.

Smh no Brooke Lopez, Demarcus

Smh no Brooke Lopez, Demarcus Cousins, Joakim Noah or Marc Gasol. How far in the future are you going? because i know thats not your predictions for the upcoming season You must be talking about the 2018-19 year Maybe

No Brook Lopez?. I am

No Brook Lopez?. I am surprised that Valanciunas is getting so much praise on this site. I was getting a million negatives 2 years ago when I said he will be a top nba center in the future! Well I also said that Micheal Beasly should have been the Number one overall pick also. Hey you cant be right all of time.

heard that his agent jeff

heard that his agent jeff schwartz HAS his opening asking price around $15 million/year. 15M / year... which is a big big BIG contract. The Twolves are offering 12M / year which is in my mind a good/fair offer for everybody. The gap is big... but both sides appears to be willing to deal together and keep pek' in minny.

also in the article : about

also in the article : about AK47

"Former Wolves forward Andrei Kirilenko on Thursday via a conference call organized by his new team, Brooklyn: "I wanted to be in Minnesota for a long tine. But there was a change in Minnesota. I respect Flip Saunders' decision, but he decided not to sign me for a long time."

That statement is wrong, per multiple sources. There's a semantical debate from the Kirilenko camp. But two people directly involved say that Kirilenko had a three-year, $21 million offer to return to the Wolves."

So that WOULD be equal to say : AK47 refuse 10M then 21M ... to get 6M to play for Prokorov in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn

We go hard. I'm still a knicks fan because the Nets are a new jersey team for life. On another note AK, I'm wouldn't mind playing a role for the Nets because of all of the talented veterans on the Nets will help him proceed to the next level. I just realized that there are a finite amount of good centers in the league and that should finally change within' the next few drafts.. A little off topic but I believe it needed to be said :).

Vucevich

He'll definitely be one of the best rebounders in the league for years to come.

Sorry but

15 mill is way too much...

i would say somewhere around 10 mill a year is fair. I like Pecovic a lot but he kind of is what he is. Not to say that he has peaked already but his offensive game needs a lot of work. If im going to pay someone 15 mill a year they better be one of the better players in the league or have the potential to be.

Why feel bad?

They feel great right about now because management has no reason to bid against themselves. They have offered at least $12 million a year and the rumor is that he's asking for as much as $15 million or maybe asking for a 5th year. I'm glad to see them stand their ground on this because Pek has no where else to go. Everyone has already spent their money and it would be really difficult to meet his demands right now. It's the summer so he won't miss out on anything too valuable. He'll cave in and take their offer.

I'd really rather not have to

I'd really rather not have to overpay for Pek even though he is a tremendous center. But lets face the facts, his defense is to hold his ground when being posted up. He won't be blocking many shots ever. He's strong as a bull and can score in the post very well, but he's too one-dimensional to offer THAT kind of deal to him. I wouldn't even say he's their second best player. That spot is reserved for either Love or Rubio. And if Love can't get the fifth year, why in the hell would Pek? They're keeping that contract for Ricky and he's earning it so far.

Yeah IDK what the OP is

Yeah IDK what the OP is talking about. The contract is on the table and its been on the table since the moratorium period ended. He just hasn't signed. Anything more and he's overpricing himself.
I know there's a premium for C's but I even think 12 mill a yr is a slight overpay for Pek despite his productivity. He's a liability defensively and him in the game forces the team to play half court because he doesn't change ends well.

Don't pity us, please.

First off I'd like to state that I love Minnesota, and am a lifer when it comes to following the TWOLVES. But to be real: We need to grow a pair. I'm so envious of great sports towns, especially Boston. You Boston guys and girls just get it. In the twin cities we're always looking forward, hopeful for the future, but when the going gets tough we like to make excuses. "Oh, everyone is injured? I think I'll just stop cheering, &$#%#[email protected]! about it, and drink another Surly Furious (great beer by the way)." Minneapolis could be such a great sports town, but It's seems we'd rather enjoy our misery rather than kick ass. Don't believe me? Check out KFAN after the Vikings botch a play in the fourth quarter, total pity party. Yeah, we're nice in Minnesota. Nice like you can steal my lunch money and my girlfriend without a fight.

Maybe the stalemate with Pekovic is a sign that we're not total pushovers. For the sake of our sports culture I hope Pek and his agent Schwartz cave before Flip and Glen do. I mean, If you give a pretty girl everything she wants then you lose value in her eyes. Figure out a way to make her buy you the drink. Bad analogy -- there's NO way Pekovic is a pretty girl.
